Loading screen stuck at awaiting gamestate

Hi, I've ran into a problem where I can very rarely connect to Beginners 2 anymore. I say rarely, because one time I actually got through (I didn't do anything in console). The loading screen will eventually get stuck at Awaiting gamestate...

 

-I've tried running the PK3 cleaner,

-Checking my packets to the server with winmtr (0 losses, everything looked good there) 

-This solution:xxxxxx

-Disabling my firewall.

 

I tried connecting to jay2, silent1, hardcore and beginners 1, all without any problem, but for some reaon I can't get into beginners 2.

 

EDIT: so I just got in again, I noticed that I was lagging quite constantly, nothing extreme. Probably good to add. After the map ended and a new map got voted however, I got stuck on a black screen with connected interupted (never took me to the next map).

Another update, I can connect fine now. I tried using a different shortcut for ET (which should be exactly the same, just a different name), and now it works fine again. I first ran into this issue this afternoon, and had problems until now, so not sure if using the shortcut actually fixed it, the shortcut I usually use works again aswell.

The only thing that I can think of is that your shortcut file got corrupted and added gibberish at the end of the link-line, as if it was a command to ET.

 

Disabling your firewall is not a good idea, but setting it to allow ET through is best.

 

I had trouble with the FA ETpro server for a while because my Norton Firewall was not allowing it to open a second port.  It would just stop on the loading screen.

Me and a couple of people having issue like that loading j1..some have it happen when they stay on... happens to me when I go off and do something else on my PC then decide to join the game again 10 minutes later or so..my screen doesnt go black..it just wont load..when i finally able to get on notice a large player drop has happened.. half or more players are gone.. not sure if they are having same trouble...I asked and some players and they say are having trouble too when I get to rejoin ... I use the custom f|a server screen to choose server I want..it just goes to awaiting gamestate and never loads..

I had this exact same thing happen, looked it up and it was pretty common back in the day. Seems to be a PB issue. I saw in console a pb error, I can't remember it now, but had posted it a few years ago

 

I added this to the first lines of my cfg and it seemed to fix it. Not sure if it's the same problem you have but check console next time it gets stuck.

Well I went into ET main folder and deleted manually all maps..not any of the other things and rejoined server letting it download the maps and settings and seemed to work better since then..
