Bloodborne is brutal. Being my first Soulslike game, the gameplay strategy is something I've never encountered before. Even though it's Soulslike, it stands apart on its own, as described by folks who've tunneled through both Bloodborne and the Dark Souls series. One thing that I had to accept early on is that I will die. I will die countless times with nothing visually comprehensible to show for it, tugged back to square one. The interesting mechanisms and nuances of the game make the brutality of it a uniquely enjoyable experience. While roaming the apocalyptic Gothic world of Yharnam, with my acoustics being overwhelmed by the sick and ominous sounds coming from all around, I don't expect anything familiar, despite the fact that I'd already died 20 times and gone through the same passage that many times. There's no "trivial" way to save progress so that you can continue from where you left off and finish off the rest of the enemies. However, there are shortcuts that you can take, but you have to find them first. These two clips mainly show one of the special attacks the player can perform, given perfect timing and placement, and obviously, the guts to do so.

If you've made the mistake of buying a console, you've probably spent time thinking about which console of the PS3 and the Xbox 360 has better controllers. They're very different and very similar at the same time. I made the mistake of buying both consoles, and if my opinion matters... I'd say the PS3 controllers are head-and-shoulders above the Xbox 360's controllers. A few reasons! A lot of people say that the PS3 controllers are too small, when in fact once you get used to them... they're the perfect size! They're also ergonomic and slim, where as the Xbox 360 controllers are big and bulky. I've spent hours and hours at a time gaming with both controllers, and the Playstation 3 Controllers are much better for the hands and wrists. A lot of people complain about batteries, because if you've made the mistake of buying rechargeable batteries like I have, you know that they don't last as long as you'd like them to. They're a pain in the ass! But with PS3, your controllers are charged directly into your console via USB to Mini-USB cable. You won't have to worry about buying cables for charging your controller, because these damn things are everywhere! I have 30+ USB to Mini-USB cables in my box of cables. Granted, while the Xbox 360 makes controllers both wired and wireless, with the Playstation 3, you can charge your controller while you're gaming. I personally am a fan of wireless controllers, but if you like the feel of wired controllers, just plug that motherf***er into the console! Problem solved! If you're like me, you like to feel vibrations when you're playing. It really captures the moment and gives you a bit of 4-dimensional entertainment. The Dualshock 3 controller for the Playstation 3's Accelerometer is stellar compared to the Xbox 360 Controller's Accelerometer. Matched with the slimness of the Dualshock 3 Controller, you really have a better grip on the vibrations. Coming from a gamer with both consoles, I'd say PS3 has the advantage when it comes to controllers. What do you guys think? ~Mr. Grimm

AMD Working on Graphics Processor for PlayStation Sony PlayStation 4 May Be Powered by AMD It is well known that Sony Corp. is developing the next iteration of the popular PlayStation console, the PlayStation 4. What remains unknown is the hardware that powers it. According to a media report, the PlayStation 4 will utilize graphics processing technology designed by Advanced Micro Devices. A former employees of AMD told Forbes web-site that the company is working on a graphics processing technology for the next-generation PlayStation 4 video game console. The ex-employees did not provide any actual details or evidence about the actual proceedings and also naturally remained anonymous. At present the information should be considered as a rumour as a custom AMD Radeon graphics chip inside the PS4 means that Sony will either have to drop compatibility with PS3 titles on its new consoles, or pay additional royalties to Nvidia Corp., whose chips power the current PlayStation 3 system. In case the rumours about AMD's custom Radeon graphics processors inside Xbox Next (Loop, Durango) as well as PlayStation 4 are correct, then the company has a reason to celebrate: it is a massive success to power all three next-generation consoles from all three major platform holders, Microsoft, Nintendo, Sony). Such position on the market may be very favourable for AMD as it will allow it to scale its graphics processing architecture beyond consoles, which are the primary game platforms nowadays, to new types of hardware that will be the gaming platforms of tomorrow. Among other advantages, Radeon HD architecture inside every next-generation consoles will provide AMD a major advantage on the market of personal computers as all major game designers will have to optimize their titles for AMD architecture and therefore the Radeon graphics chips for PCs will have an advantage over competing solutions. However, developing of three separate graphics cores for the next-gen video game consoles means that AMD will have to offload resources from other projects, such as next-generation GPUs for PC or ultra-portables, and dedicate them to development of new solutions for console platform holders. AMD and Sony did not comment on the news-story source

Microsoft has tried to catch up with some of the titans of the gaming world, such as Sony with the release of the Xbox 360. The Xbox 360 offers many new features that players will love: Free limited subscription to online gaming – This allows players who have not been participating in online gaming a chance to see what is available at no charge. All Xbox 360s come with Live-aware – This means you can get a friend invite or see who is online and what they are playing from your Xbox 360. The button in the middle of the controller makes all this very easy. It offers great media features including listening to music while you play games, the ability to create custom playlists and your own custom soundtracks, the ability to rip songs from original CDs to your Xbox 360 and stream music from your MP3 player to your Xbox 360. You can also create slideshows of photos to share with friends and family. Xbox 360 has a wireless controller. No more tripping over the wires, although it can support two wired controllers through USB ports in the front. The game console is not only great for gamers, but developers as well. It is a powerful machine with an unprecedented amount of RAM – a feature added on the request of developers. But, Xbox 360 still has some problems that need to be worked out: Their Japanese third party support is lacking – While some Japanese developers offer software for the Xbox, it is small in number when compared to what the same developers offer for Playstation. While the controller is wireless, it eats batteries rather quickly. Standard alkaline batteries only last about thirty hours, so if you buy Xbox 360, invest in rechargeable batteries to save yourself some money in the end. When they were set up in WalMart stores before days before the launch, many suffered what is known as the Xbox “360 screen of death,†an error screen. The Xbox 360 had also had some problems with overheating. Some report the Xbox 360 system as being very noisy when playing an Xbox 360 disc. Many people are eagerly awaiting the release of Playstation 3, which may occur as soon as November of this year. It has been said that the Playstation 3 has an outward feel (which allows it to stand vertically or horizontally on its own), as opposed to the Xbox 360’s inward feel. It is a much larger console than the Playstation 2 and closer to the original size of the Xbox. Game discs slide into the console like CDs slide into a car player. Here are a few attractive features of the Playstation 3: It is always on, so you can access your Playstation 3 from anywhere as long as you have an Internet connection. With a Playstation Portable, you can connect to your Playstation 3 and transfer media such as music and movies. The Playstation 3 appears to be much more powerful than that Xbox 360, Ninetindo Revolution, and Playstation 2. Initial reports say it will be twice as fast as the Xbox 360. Developers and publishers of over 230 games have announced titles for Playstation 3 games. Here are a few reported cons and problems with the Playstation 360: Comes with only 256 MB, less than the 512 MB the Xbox 360 will come with. Their Playstation Network Platform (the online service) is still in development and may not be ready by the time Playstation 3 is released. The launch of the Playstation 3 has already been delayed due to disk problems. Both the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 are incredible gaming consoles. It seems that although the Xbox 360 came out first, the best bet is still the Playstation 3. The strongest point of the Xbox 360 is its online functionality, but Sony may be working on something similar to Xbox Live right now. However, Microsoft is closing the gap with Xbox 360 and probably will eventually catch up with Sony in gaming consoles. For some users, it may come down to something as simple as which one is more compatible with the games they already own.
