Okay, as of ~4th October, EvenBalance (EB) and Activision no longer have a contract for PunkBuster support on Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory, and thus they have dropped support for it. You will no longer be issued ETKeys by EB, and thus you will no longer be able to get new GUIDs. However, I have created an ETKey Generator for Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory, hosted here at Fearless Assassins. Okay so step by step I'll explain how to get your new ETKey, and how to use it. First, go to the ETkey Generator for Enemy Territory, solve the CAPTCHA image, and click Generate Etkey! You will be prompted to Open or Save the etkey file. Save the file. Once it has downloaded (this should only take a second or two as it's a very small file), copy the etkey file to the relevant folder: WinXP: C:\Program Files\Wolfenstein - Enemy Territory\etmain\ Vista/Win7 64bit: C:\Program Files (x86)\Wolfenstein - Enemy Territory\etmain\ Vista/Win7 32bit: C:\Program Files\Wolfenstein - Enemy Territory\etmain\ Mac OS X: /Users/username/Library/Application Support/Wolfenstein ET/etmain/ Linux (*): /home/username/.etwolf/etmain/ *Based on Ubuntu setup. Note: On some installations of Windows 7, you may also need to copy your new ETKey file to: C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\PunkBuster\ET\etmain\ You should now be good to go - start up wolfenstein and you should have a new GUID. You can check by typing /cl_guid into your console and seeing if it displays any letters/numbers. Not working? If /cl_guid reveals that you have an *Unknown* guid, join a server then type the following: /pb_cl_enable; pb_system 1; pb_writecfg; reconnect; This should solve all issues. Pro tip: to save this problem in the future, read my tutorial on Backing Up & Restoring your ETKey! -
hi i have been playing the beginners server on et and ammassed an xp of about 45000 now the serber wont load anymore because it says my guid /et key is currupt i can still get on other servers but this is the one where i had all my xp any help for a noob appreciated

hello, I noticed that since I have a new pc/install, I need to manually enable punkbuster every time I turn on my game, so I was thinking of adding the commands (pb_cl_enable, pb_system 1, pb_writecfg) to my cfg, so it would just enable itself everytime, but when !finger'd myself I noticed at the end of my PB GUID there was a line that said: This player has no stored GUID. This got me wondering if there is maybe something else wrong. Anyone has a clue?

Hey there, I've downloaded ET Legacy to check how much fps i got there, but somehow I cant open my etkey there. Was connecting Jay3 and after few min got auto kick (probebly for Clantag without lvl), but then I tried to reconnect and I cant. Reopned the client and still cant connect any server now, it says to me - 'Invalid user information' which I've been told connected to my etkey. Also, how can I make that client of Legacy to work on window mode (only able to do fullscreen window, I want small window like in photo) Can someone help figure it out ? Thanks, Puni.

Today I came to Nq3 and saw a weird situation: Major's lost his xp and levels, meanwhile Assassins had it. I tried to find out what happened there, but I didn't manage to make that, since they couldn't answer my questions clearly. As far as I've understood, Major tried to help Assassins to get a new etkey, and gave him his own somehow. At the same time Assassins told me, that it is his old etkey, which he accidentally found. To be honest I don't tend to trust Assassins' words. As far as I didn't manage to find out the problem or suggest any solution, I am writing here about this accident. I also attach a screenshot.

hey guyz, I'm struggling hard since a few weeks to understand what kind of mess I'm in ... I played ET few years ago, and I would have been glad to play it again lately. But it seems like I can't anymore: I'm a mac user, I'm having the 'invalid guid' message when enabling punkbuster. I googled it and read the whole internet, tried any trick that was provided anywhere: - redid the etkey several time - reinstalled ET - activating punkbuster through the console with some random codes - updating PB manually (which failed, I did not found ET in the menus...) Things are always buggy, and I still have the "Invalid GUID bnblablablabla you should try again later' message. Fortunately, I've been lucky enough to find a quick solution, I can play on some servers by disabling Punkbuster but I loose my xp each time, which is a pain in the ass ... Could anyone please help ? thanks a bunch !!

If you're having problems with your XP or 'invalid GUID' etc, check your etmain folder (usually C:/Program Files (x86)/Wolfenstein - Enemy Territory/etmain/) for a file named etkey. I propose that we add a link / button to donate to FA on the etkey generator page. I feel that people finding the etkey generator may well want to offer a donation out of appreciation for the etkey generator service we're providing. Since the etkey generator isn't integrated with the forums / website, I see there's no way of people quickly seeing that they can donate as a thank you. I'm sure there will be mixed opinions naturally, but the way I see it, it can't hurt and might help pay for servers etc.
