br_aschan Posted July 21, 2010 Posted July 21, 2010 So i opened up xfire and it asked for an update. Through xfire mind you it didnt ask me to go to a specific site to update. well once the update was finished Norton on my computer gives me a message saying a trojan was blocked coming from the temp files from the update. And then again a site i never opened sent another attack upon my computer, which Norton stopped again. The site was OoOoOoOo.com or somehting. Just giving the heads up and seeing if any of you had the same problem. Quote
OnionKnight Posted July 21, 2010 Posted July 21, 2010 No problems on my laptop and I am running Norton Internet Security on it (boo Norton lol). Desktop uses Avast and also has no problems with xfire update Quote
gigabyte Posted July 21, 2010 Posted July 21, 2010 Not the first time that it happens. there is no virus. Quote
!Chuck4Abuck Posted July 21, 2010 Posted July 21, 2010 no virus at all . maybe is just your pc . Quote
Krayzie Posted July 21, 2010 Posted July 21, 2010 Its not the first time that someone's AV has said Xfire is a virus, if I had more time I'd find that topic as well. Quote
Antimony Posted July 22, 2010 Posted July 22, 2010 Its just a false positive. Xfire scans your harddisk(s) for games when you open it (unless u change the option). So AV must have mistaken it for Trojan. Quote
TimoMajere Posted July 22, 2010 Posted July 22, 2010 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trojan_Virus Did it happen to give you the identity of the Trojan? Quote
