From window10 to windows 7

Hey guys i bought new system with windows 10 os so what i did i bought ssd drive i tryed to install windows ultimate 7 i have a legit os i bought it before but it does not let me to install it it stopes at screen where you choose your keyboard layout language and nothing moves i mean my mouse or key dont work yet i know it works in baground my mouse workes in bios whats up with that any idea how to clean install.

What are the specifications for your new computer? Namely the processor. There's a chance that Windows 10 is the only version of Windows that will support the chipset.

 

But first, make sure that your keyboard and mouse are plugged into USB 2.0 ports- not the blue USB 3.0

and yea I fixed the problem with keyboard now I have this No Drive Device Driver were Found on Windows 7 Installation

Unfortunately your computer is incompatible with Windows 7. The sixth generation "Skylake" processors were the last compatible with Windows 7 and 8.

The 7th generation "Kaby Lake" processors, which is what you have require Windows 10 or Linux.

 

There may be a workaround, if you can get a hold of the Intel SATA Preinstall drivers, and either slipstream them into the installation image or perhaps putting them (the *.inf files) on a usb drive and installing them using the "Load Drivers" button. However, the platform isn't supported and you'll need other workarounds for updates.

ok so obviously it doesnt read my cd rom because its external and its conected through usb im thinking if ill buy internal cd rom it should work?

Wolf, another problem is that Win7 will only get updates until January 14th, 2020 . = 2 years & 2+ months or so.  (I guess that my "backup win7 ssd" will be mostly useless after that). 

 

Windows 8.1 will get updated until January 10th, 2023

Well, the problem is the lack of HDD controller chipset drivers. Right now, nothing internal would work (HDD, CD-ROM, etc).

 

I've attached a zip file with drivers for you to try. Unzip them, and put all of them into a folder on a flash drive.

 

Once you get to the section of Setup that asks which drive you want to install on, click on the button that says "Load Driver". Click on the browse button.

(Since Windows 7 setup doesn't support USB 3.0, you might need to temporarily unplug your keyboard to use your flash drive.)

 

Using the dialog box, browse to your flash drive, click on the folder, and then click OK. Choose the AHCI driver, and finally click Next.

 

Just a note, since I saw the support EOL mentioned... you won't get any updates at all for Windows 7 without a "patch". Microsoft has blocked updates for Kaby Lake systems.

Bumping this because I've seen a few people download the zip file I attached in my last post.

I'm hoping this is to scan the files for viruses or see what the zip contains- but unless you're Wolf, do not install these drivers. These drivers are specific to the motherboard in Wolf's new computer.

Installing them on any other computer could render your system unusable.

 

Let me know how it goes Wolf. It's been awhile, but I've had to load third party HD controller drivers to install Windows 7 in the past back when I used PCIe SATA controller cards due to a fried HD Controller on my motherboard.

It was easier for me though, because all of my USB ports were 2.0, so I could have my KB, Mouse, USB drive containing Windows 7 image, and second USB stick with drivers plugged in at the same time.
It is a shame that Windows 7 installer does not support USB 3.0, but it *is* newer than Windows 7. It's like using a flash drive with Windows 98. ME and 2000 supported them out of the box, but flash drives came about after Windows 98 was released, so it makes sense that 98 ddn't support them without third-party drivers.

look I appreciate all the help I did try everything to much hustle just installed my win10 back its ok have to get use to it. Btw I do have original os windows ultimate I bought it before.
