Here's a kinesin protein carrying cargo to some other part of the cell, using a microtubule as "tracks" to walk upon.

It looks just like a little guy walking!

Here's a fun little fact. Up until 2003, it took about 15 years and $2.700.000.000 (2.7 billion) to sequence the entire human genome.

In 2014, this process takes about a day and costs $1000.

In 2018, through new techniques that already exist but are not yet available for commercial use, one can "purchase" a genome sequencing for $100. It takes no more than an hour.

 

Don't jump the gun, though. Rumour has it that your genome will also be stored and, sooner or later, it will find its way to insurance companies.

We all know where that might lead to  :unsure:
