No excuse for the way they acted. They are supposed to be an example for the public. And they wonder why many fear the police instead of feel safe with their presence. This sort of behaviour ruins it for the good police that actually do their job properly. Criminals hiding behind a badge. They are no different to those animals serving time in jail when they act like this.

Indeed unacceptable, police trying to prevent people from voting, Spain government didn't handle this right, I lost hope for humanity after this inhuman incident

Spain's not gonna give up its main region of income. Take away one's livelihood anything can happen, even at macrostructural levels such as with a country. Spain needs a different economy before Catalonia can become independent successfully..
