overclocking is for those people that have good cooling systems..

i dont even think ur comp can overclock lol, its piece of crap like mine

AMD has built in (AMD Boost) in bios on most aftermarket mobo's. : ) or you can just bump the FSB up a lil. Clean your heatsink good and get all the dust out then maybe add a fan or two. Ive found people gettgin 2800Mhz on air and a maximum speed of 3603Mhz on dry ice, which translates into a 100% overclock!

If you can get into your bios you can probb overclock :) most importand is your mutiplier if you can increase it up to 13 thats great but probb you cant :)

so you have to increase your baseclock atm its 166 you can gradually up that to 10 procent 180 and your processor speed will become 12x180

Increasing your baseclock will let all components run faster also your memory .

f your screen gets bleu you went to far than set it back a bit :) from a few bleuscreeens your computer wont get broke if you have a good cooler you can also increase your voltage on processor but thats for later ^^.

so its rlly simple go into bios (probb hit tab or del while starting up the computer ) find baseclock somewhere (vallue is 166 at this moment ) and increase it .

my computer is standart 3000 processor speed and if you look in my hard ware i pushed on air cooling to 4000 . and its up and running great .

If you overclock your computer the heat will increase and the life span of your computerpart will decrease normally from 6 years to 5 there is always a risk that it will go to hell .

Have no fear overclocking is not for pro and can be fun for everyone :).

Did they have AMD cool'n quiet on those older processors? If they do turn it off in bios before you do any overclocking because it really messes with your stability =)

EDIT: Thunderrr "thou shall not steal" XD. Lol

This is my Cpu : http://speccy.piriform.com/results/74xFLqr1zTxIVtWbLfIJhFI If you have a older computer the best thing you can do it upgreade your memory and you can boost it ..say from 1 gig to 1.5 or 2 to 3

Same with video cards some of the older core will not overclock there set to shut down if messed with

I'm not even sure if mine even can be but it does run cool at 25* I think its at 800mhz x4 but rated for 2000mhz which does the trick so far

u cant over clock your system

ur mother board doesnt support oc

ur cpu will never go over 133 mhz of oc speed-= and for that speed u need newer mother board

better to buy a new cpu

but for short

ur system cant be overclocked !

@ OnionKnight-You are correct on this, and it has to be turned off. I left it on while playing with different OC's and had some interesting results to say the least. Like the computer shutting off, locking up, BSOD, etc. Once it was turned off...I was find with the same OC and able to push further.

@ Grave-I'm guessing some of the people commenting on here must know which motherboard you have, because without that kind of information I couldn't give you a straight up answer. While the memory timings are helpful, it's a good starting point one you know what your BIOS looks like.

You may be able to use some OCing programs like Ntune, but from my experience with them they tend to be buggy and not overly forgiving. The good thing is, if your PC crashes it isn't automatically stuck in an overclock. Since your running and NF2 chipset, then if the BIOS supports it you should be able to OC a bit. Probably not by much since if memory servers me right those Barton proc's were not the best for OC'ing. Still you may be able to squeeze a bit more out of it.

Best little upgrades you can do are Memory. Add another 1 or 2 gigs Maybe a new hard drive with a bigger size ..Mines 1 TB just so i could say 1 TB lol and clean the shit out of your HD if you can't buy a new one You can overclock your Memory and Video card if you read up on it or look in youtube Your hard drive also has virtual memory that you can use and game memory and boost your 1 gig memory to 2.5 Gigs total memory ..Running dual channel memory helps too
