Scenario: - Two Windows PCs on our home network (behind a NAT from our wireless router, connected to our cable modem) - 1st machine can connect fine (who ever connects first). - 2nd machine cannot ever connect, no error, it just waits for a connection forever. redy. Posted April 4, 2017 Posted April 4, 2017 just found the following: here 1) Open console2) Type in net_port and hit enter3) One of you needs to change that number to a digit or so higher. Pick who will do that4) The person who changes it needs to use: net_port [new ip]5) Then they need to type: net_restartI had this problem personally and went through the cvar list until I discovered the "net_" family and played around with those. This fixed the problem and I haven't had it since. It has worked for my friends as well. Port forwarding may be necessary, but I can't remember. I don't think it is. 1 Quote
Solution Nerbil Posted April 5, 2017 Author Solution Posted April 5, 2017 We got it working just fine, we are using different ETKeys. The fix was to change the net_port value. 3 Quote
Leader RedBaird Posted April 5, 2017 Leader Posted April 5, 2017 5) Then they need to type: net_restart I wonder if a /net_restart would help some people avoid restarting ET or their computer to fix a temporary problem. Quote
