Game crash on startup

As of recently, I can play ET on my laptop. However, to get into the game, I have to launch it anywhere between 1 and 100 times. It crashes almost always upon startup (as soon as the screen turns all gray to load the starting video). It then simply says, "ET has crashed. Would you like to file a report?"

 

I tried numerous compatibility combinations, played with the resolution and bit-settings. All, naturally, while launching as administrator. But to no avail.

Clean etmain + mod folder from not needed pk3's?

I assume you're running it as admin?

As stated in OP, running as admin. Also, the game is just freshly installed on my lappy for the first time. There should not be any redundant pk3 files from a previous installation.

I would try ETL before anything else if possible. Sometimes the old et binaries are just... difficult to work with on newer systems.

Yeah, I'd say try ET Legacy. I had some problems with regular ET on Windows 10.

I think that part of his problem is that there is no condump.

With console, I assume you mean the in-game console. I don't get that far into the game before the crash occurs, so I cannot provide you with that.

Not sure how the print-screen will help, it literally says "ET no longer works. We're looking for a solution."

 

Also, what the deuce is ET Legacy? o.o

overbelasting of  iets dat niet hoort te draaien
ik moet even nadenken ik heb iets soort gelijks gehad maar kan even niet opkomen waarom ook al weer


translation try to make sure ET runs as admin look in taskmanager what happens if you open overload or something running that shouldnt I had a simular error im trying to remind myself why it was again I thought it had something to do with my video card I thought I  had to update drivers
