No muzzle flash for sten

I feel cvops is kind of under powered - contrary to what some people say - I haven't seen a single highest fragger with sten yet (playing et for 6+ years on different servers). I know that perhaps implementation of my idea is beyond the power of what we could do but I want you to share an opinion on my thought anyways.

 

No muzzle flash for sten. 

 

It would enable cvops to shoot through smoke undetected increasing the usefulness of smoke and making sten a good situational weapon.

Perhaps then I am mistaken. Is there a sten challanger that will show me that it is better than other weapons ?

It always feels more accurate, my acc is always a good 5-10 percent better just by default with it, but I think it needs work to get really good at and get used to the cooldown. People seem to get sick of it too quickly and drop it, I know that that is what I do, so then I never actually get good at it.

Its a good weapon at distance espaecially but overheats. I wouldn't mind removing muzzle flash. head to head the mp40 or SMG will most likely win except at great distances

The thing with the sten is to try to semi auto fire the gun (press for each shot rather than hold fire button down). Time to overheat is at least 2-3 more shots than just auto firing. Those 2-3 more shots are usually the ones needed to kill.

Server with a lot of people --> you need to shoot all the time --> with sten you can't --> bad choise of weapon. It's fun weapon but loses its meaning with crowded, and because of that little bit laggy, servers. It's precise weapon that can't be used properly with massive servers. Yes, you can frag well with it, but you would do better with smg's in same conditions. From teamplay aspect, it's limited because using smoke or blowing things up as covop rarely leads into anything. Someone might use the oppoturnity to advance more safely but not the majority of the team. It's better just to frag your way through and heal people afterwards with medpacks. That being said, if one or two people of team with 20 players plays as covops and actually uses good smokes and blows obstacles away, that's great. But most of the time thats not the case.

i just wanted to try the recoil off or reduced, its kinda good to avoid overheating

I´ve always thought that there´s already no muzzle flash(light showing up from gun) for sten? I´ve been using smoke and waiting for pray to shoot only to give away their position and then move+shoot them, rarely get shot back at by anyone this way. Only guys with good game sens or wh have managed to get me this way...

And yep sten is more accurate as my accuracy shows on stats 5% higher values but if I´m not mistaken also the damage is reduced slightly for sten, so DPS is the same? It´s easier to get HS though, so DPS raises a bit.

And yep its too bad ppl don´t use smoke to advance, enemy almost always get´s distracted by smoke, so it´s a good way to strafe through smoke and suprise attack them. But hey, nothing new in ET. I was only one to attack in HC yesterday in Goldrush(yes in hardcore which should be a bit more obj oriented) with half of allies holding truck barrier nr1, the other half the bridge;)

You obviously never VS'd Gaymen and/or Fooan (is this the same person?) in the Silent servers. I seldom lose to them with the SMG, but when they carry the STEN I might as well give up and die where I stand when I encounter them.
