ET crashing

Even if the game crashes, there should be some lines in the log. I halfassedly simulated a crash by loading up ET, loading JayMod, typing in some cmds, then killing the process tree. Although it did fail to write the last few lines, there was still *something* in the log.

This is the line in my config set to write a logfile
And then I can search for *.log in my JayMod folder to easily find the file.

Which could imply that the game doesn't work the same in this reinstall than it used to with your previous install.

And even make conflicts with remaining items for instance.

 

I'd thought about that too earlier and I tried searching for ET download from any other source than TB, . Other site which I found were also using tb themselves to provide ET application.

I had the same issue after a reinstall a couple of years ago and couldn't sort it out.

I made a backup in a corner of all folders, deleted everything even in the registry and reinstalled from fresh.

Tested, it worked.

Then tried to paste my 'profile' folder and etkey and it kept working.

I'd do this if I were you, cause finding the reason could be time-consuming and vain, while a fresh reinstall could solve it all out in a few mn...

Maybe try to download for other source and not TB ?

i think maybe my pc do sameo thing,,i join server play a few minutes then my pc turns offski,,,,,i was advised it may be a memory issue,,but i cant recall,,but ceriuslee it only happens on et,,so i not know,,,,but it about the same time around 10/12 weeks now,,it not happening allthe time,,but when it do its a pisser for sure,,lastnight it happened 6times on goldrush,,but then it was ok for the next 3hours,,

You can still download it directly from Splash Damage----->http://www.splashdamage.com/content/download-wolfenstein-enemy-territory. I'd say for the hell of it try saving your etkey, wipe install and try again?

You have either a thermal or power issue... or your motherboard is fried. Memory issues would not cause your computer to turn completely off.

 

In any event, I suggest you make your own topic with the details of your computer and the problem if you want support.
