Everytime Jay 1 is full, I noticed that the hit detection gets a little bit un precise and all gameplay gets sluggish. Yesterday I played on Jaymod 2, server was almost full (21 vs 22) and everything was really smooth. Everytime i was shooting I felt that if I was missing, it was entirely my fault, because the hit detection seemed so precise and clean.

I did another test and played engie with rifle at jay 1. I rarely get killed by new players and they seem to miss more often. Then, I tried it on jay 2 and everyone could kill me way more faster.


So, my question is: are there any config differences between these two servers? or was it just a huge planetary equinox coincidence?

No difference. One is in Chicago and another one in NJ. Off-course jay2 is on dedicated server where we maintain load and all and jay1 is at mercy of gameservers where they maintain it. But so far over 8 years not much major issues .. Only few times they screwed up our FTP and mod installs and i had to redo all. 

 

Also jay2 hardware is much newer compare to jay1. Except that not much difference rather then adren on and off.  I had felt same while back. I could make jay2 more accurate but doing so will add little lag aka yellow spikes.

Nice, I knew I was not the only one who felt that. In the end, anyone who wants precision should go and play on silent/etpro servers.

what you see, and what the "client" sees are different aswell i presume. becuase i have killed people while literally spinning round to shoot someone else. didn't even see the guy i killed with 1 bullet to the head. or when people are in very close proximity and u turn round fast and actually turn past them, even tho on my screen, im shooting and no one is there im still getting hits. complete madness.

 

this is a partial reason i like to play on other servers/mods. because when you come back to jaymod, you're alot more precise.

I could make jay2 more accurate but doing so will add little lag aka yellow spikes.

 

Leave it as it is, works better than FA1 for most of us.

 

I have felt it a long time as well considering the actual gameplay comparing Jay1 and Jay2, it seems that at Jay1 u hit a lot less, the entire smoothness of the game is not the same and the gameplay struggles as well, at least for me.

At jay2, i have at least most of the time control over the aim and the game, without having any issues or major issues with lag or unstable fps, even the hit registration is a lot better on jay2, as u can really control the aiming part, while at jay1, when its full or around 40+ ppl, it gets out of your control to do anything in improving your aim. Would love to actually test jay2 with 40-50 ping, the good old memories of decent Euro servers are sadly long gone and now we have to struggle with 130-150 ping.

 

Still most ironic is that owning a PC for 1.3k € and a 120/5 mbps connection and yet i cannot achive stable gameplay at jaymod when the server is crowded, good old ET :D

try playing it on a £200 notbook and a £shop mouse under same ciscumstances :D

I could fire up Fun #2 in Euro but there isn't much players base left.

Eh the good old Euro servers are long gone Dare, i have already gave up on the "dream" of playing with 50 ping again on a full 40-50 slot server and actually having 0 lags and delay :D

Did you do something like that on Jay3? Since the server was down i have laggs sometimes i never had before. Even other guys says they are lagging more :/

There will be always 40% lagging in real world in any game. If you are gonna ask on server with 30+ players, at least 5 would say they are lagging and it's not in ET but in any game on any game server. 

 

That being said no nothing is changed. When you say lag, l always ask for lagometer screenshots + winMTR. Without that no can help anyone.

I will send you winmtr tomorrow. I got there probs too. I allready checked it.

 

In host i put jay3.clan-fa.com is correct, isn't?

 

Then i got no response from host/server so 100% packet lost. An in last line was written an IP arround 10-20% packet lost.

 

But as i said will send it to you tomorrow. Maybe i did something wrong.

Make sure your winMTR as admin. Without that it will not work on windows 7 or above.
