seta cg_muzzleFlash "0" or seta cg_muzzleFlash "1" works the same way. Whatever is used gun always firing flame when I play on jay-1. Exec command not working. Any ideas?

do you actually type

/cg_muzzleflash 0

or

/cg_muzzleflash "0"

quotation marks are not needed.

You don't "exec" that cvar.  You just open console and /seta cg_muzzleflash 0.  You can then test it anytime with /cg_muzzleflash (no number) in console at any time.

U can normally select that command via Jaymod menu to disable it, otherwise open your cfg and search for this command and change the value from 1 to 0, save it and exec it afterwards ingame to get the effect done, make sure it isn't duplicated somewhere.

I was wondering does it work if you type in that cvar in console manually without using the configuration file?

if you do, then you are not typing it correctly, or you have some script in your config that puts it back to 1 when you press some key.

 

keep in mind that different mods can have different cvars, I can't check from here, but make sure the name is correct.
