How to use a config

can anyone tell me how to use a script ?? i downloaded one

what now, a script or a config?

 

the config is the file where your settings are located. it can contain one or several scripts (like a FOV-toggle, a namechanger, a spawn-selector etc.) but does not have to.

 

The config is located in your Enemy Territory folder and can be opened with a simple text editor, it's saved as .cfg-file.

 

Everytime ET starts or loads a map the config is executed. You can also force this by /exec INSERTCONFIGNAME.cfg in your console while ingame.

 

 

Now, do you have a specific setting or script in mind? Do you simply want to use a downloaded config file?

Be careful when using downloaded scripts or configs.  Some people have gotten in trouble when their new scripts advertise other clans or IPs or seem to be executing hacks.

Unzip the file, put in your ETmain folder, launch your game, open your console with this key ² on your keyboard, and type \exec annibal. No need a \vid_restart here it's included in the config.

how to use with bind for example you can do this :

naah.. I don't think such a thing is possible. You have to press a key to trigger these vsays. Plus, imagine the spam this latter could be, if this was possible. 30 players online owning such a script, 1 kill every 2 or 3 secs,... We could turn crazy or deaf, and spam is anyway not allowed.

It's because you should type /vid_restart, not /vid_reset

 

Make sure you type it out perfectly, every little mistake will make an error appear. If the file is called "annibal" and you type "exec annible", it won't work
