You need Onion the cheap gaming pc master. Try searching your local craigslist and see what you can find.

Lawl I'll try. But its really hard. You'll probably end up with low amounts of RAM that might give you a bottleneck in gaming performance lol. $400 dollars US/Can

$400 dollar Gaming Rig

Special Prices end April 13th. Canadian Dollar is on par with US dollar right now (so I won't have to do conversion)

Biostar AM3 DDR3 ATX Crossfire X motherboard $59.99 Canadian http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=49121&vpn=TA790GXB3&manufacture=BIOSTAR&promoid=1097

AMD Athlon II x3 435 Triple Core Processor $80.99 Canadian http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=45591&vpn=ADX435WFGIBOX&manufacture=AMD&promoid=1097

Crucial Ballistix Tracer 2GB DDR3 1333 - $ 63.99 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820148313&cm_re=ddr3_2gb_1333-_-20-148-313-_-Product

OCZ ModXStream Pro 500W Power supply After $10 Mail In Rebate: $59.99 Canadian http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=33040&vpn=OCZ500MXSP&manufacture=OCZ%20Technology

AZZA Orion 202 black ATX case After $20 Mail in Rebate: $16.99 US http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811517003&cm_re=azza_orion-_-11-517-003-_-Product

Asus 9800GT 512 MB Video card After $20 mail in Rebate: $74.99 US http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121352&cm_re=9800gt-_-14-121-352-_-Product

Seagate 500 GB 7200 rpm HD: $44.99 http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=36050&vpn=ST3500418AS&manufacture=Seagate&promoid=1097

Total Cost After Rebates: $402 US/Canadian

PS: Use Windows XP or Windows 7. Don't have a disk? Go torrent it. Don't buy that overpriced crap =P

Suggestion:

If I were you I would throw down $60 more. That way you can get 4 GB ddr3 ram and a Better video card. The 9800 GT is a pretty decent card (but you can always do better and get a HD 4850 or GT 250) and 2 GB ram will be a bottleneck for sure for future games (at the moment 2 GB is fine for current games. Most PCs nowadays have so much ram that they don't even use 50% of the capacity. But it is still ideal to get 4GB incase because for certain games, that extra memory will help )

Best Choice for a Used Computer:

If you don't mind used computers, just go with thundercunts first craiglist post. It is still a bargain especially since your getting a nice GTS 250 (I don't like the processor but for that price how can you complain). You just have to watch out (inspect it to make sure nothing is gimicky with it or faulty hardware).

I thought you didnt want Windows 7? The Compaq has Windows 7 on it. If your going to get one with that, like I said, get the Dell Inspiron.

0 Chance it can even run COD4 over 25 fps. You will never be able to find a gaming computer from Bestbuy, CompUSA, Staples or Office Depot that are under $1400. Finding any gaming computer under $400 dollars is almost a near to impossible task. Building one under $400 dollars is pretty hard already.

Here are your best options

1.) Build it yourself. If you don't have the knowledge get help from a friend. A lot of people follow youtube vids to help them build their first gaming computer.

2.) If you can't build it, buy on craigslist or ebay. You won't ever be to find a new gaming computer for this price so your best chance is to get a used one. I suggest you go back and look at Thundercunts post because he posted a decent gaming comp for only $300 and I can guarentee you'll never get a better deal than that. Also Desu you should consider getting it since you said you needed a gaming comp cheap.

Tips: If you want a computer that can play most games today (not every game but will play most of them). You will have to settle for a GT 240 or 4670 or higher video card. You can get some nice cheap ones on newegg for a decent price.
