So. This Ted Cruze guy.

Kinda called Net Neutrality 'Obamacare for the Internet.'

Who wants to smuggle my ass into 'Murica so I can give this guy a proper f***ing Canadian shit kicking? Or is he legally retarded? Doctor's note and all? Then I could understand.

First time I read that tweet I thought "He must be either trolling or joking, there's no way he can actually be serious...". I soon realised that he was, indeed, being serious and also a presidential candidate.

Hmmm . . . I heard that before :o :

Only a year ago( November 2013) POTUS appointed a lobbyist as the head of FCC who tried to get ride of net neutrality: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tom_Wheeler#Net_neutrality , so lets see and wait what these new ordered rules really contain, until then some healthy scepticism is (imo) advised.

Nice pr-message and video though, he is really good on those kind of things

I agree with Mel, Ted Cruz is heavily invested in the telecommunications arena. He's also apt to disagree with anything coming out the White House these days.

I know everyone knows Fox News is propaganda, but this is particularly bad.

President Obama tried to classify the internet as a utility, so companies can't restrict the flow of data for profit. Fox News calls it "government regulation" and "Obamacare for the internet" and then turns off comments on the article so no one can explain what Net Neutrality really is to the troglodytes.

GENIUS!

What is wrong with our president -_-

Your president tries to help you protect your access to the Internet, and you're asking what's wrong with him?

I'm confused, can someone please explain why this is apparently such a bad thing?

I like the idea, its just that this might be the ONLY good thing our president has done so far.

Okay, you might have backtracked on what you said but there are still people on Twitter decrying this as the original sin. I'm genuinely confused. Why do people seem to think that what he did was a "bad" thing? It's basically a case of him showing his support for the masses of people, and companies, asking for this /not/ to go through, or at least that's the way I'm reading it.

Because whenever government sticks their big greedy fingers into something it's never good.  Obama isn't trying to protect anything. They're trying to regulate it. There's no need. The internet is doing just fine.

And this is kind of funny. You can't believe everything you read.... in the headline of a story.

This is what Ted Cruz said, “It puts the government in charge of determining Internet pricing, terms of service, and what types of products and services can be delivered, leading to fewer choices, fewer opportunities and higher prices for consumers. The Internet should not operate at the speed of government.”

It's just government overreach.

People should do more investigating into the outcomes of big government overreach. The majority of Americans didn't want Obamacare. Democrat leader Nancy Pelosi told us... "We have to pass the bill to see what's in it." Had we not done that we would've saw the lies inside. Like you can't always keep your doctor if you want to. They didn't tell us that this would start eating away at people working hours either. This has created a class of people called 29'ers. People who now cannot work more than 29 hours a week because if they did their employers would have to provide them with healthcare. What a mess.
