Hello there fellow ET players!

I have started playing ET again this week. Been having fun in getting to know the game again.

Everything went smooth until two days ago. I started having some trouble logging into a couple of servers I have been practicing on. One runs on silEnT 0.8.1 and the other runs on Jaymod 2.2.0. I can't get past the loading screen anymore. The loading bar get stuck on being fully loaded. I had no issues before, it is driving me nuts! I do know I am logged into the server because I see my name popping up on gametracker.com when checking the server.

I have been checking a couple of things so far:
- It is running as admin
- It is running in compatibility mode for WXP SP3
- It is running ET version 2.60
- No soft of hardware changes are made since the install
- My AV and firewall are both set up to allow ET to run (turning them off changes nothing, besides it worked before so it should now)
- Punkbuster has the latest version

I had two windows popping up after a very long load time telling me: Game code ( ui_mp_x86.dll ) failed Pure Server Check and Connection timed out. Back or reconnect.

Could anyone please help me out? I seriously have no idea what to do to fix this.

Thanks in advance!

Thank you Xernicus for your reply.

Unfortunately the problem still persists. I have tried several clean installs of ET and there I have the same issue.

Is there anything else I can try?

ERROR 1 : Game code (ui_mp_x86.dll) failed Pure server check : If you are using Windows Vista or Windows 7, make sure you check the box that says "Run as Administrator". Not doing so will cause problems for ET.If you don't know what to do, rick click on the ET icon and press "Properties". Click on the Compatibility tab. Look at the Privilege Level section and check the box that says "Run this program as an administrator".

and check if u have etkey in the etmain

Windows 7 I presume? Hmmm... this may seem redundant, because you're running ET as an admin, but it might be worth turning your UAC off from what I've read.
Another thing (will probably seem redundant as well, but apparently it does make a difference), is changing the properties of the main executable (%Program Files(x86)%\Wolfenstein - Enemy Territory\et.exe) to "Run as Adminstrator" checked so you're bypassing any shortcut settings, and on my particular installation I do not have any emulation set up like WinXP SP3.

What I did not see originally is that you're getting a timeout error. Does that happen only on one mod or server, or is it more random- like sometimes it give you Failed Pure Check, others is timeout?

And when you get that timeout error, which stage of connection is it on? Awaiting Challenge, gamestate, etc.

Yes, “Game code (ui_mp_x86.dll) failed pure server” error occurs when you try to join an ET server and that one or more of your pk3 files in your ET folder are corrupt or modified.

-Re-install the game. Copy\past only files needed (etkey and cfg). Tick the admin rights box in your ET short cut properties tab even before to launch your game the first time.

-Second option would be indeed to turn off the UAC, what I mostly don't recommend, but that you could try during all the ET process and to turn it on again once all the ET process finished and finally connected on a server.

-The 3rd, would be to modify the admin rights for the whole WET folder for the concerned user, through the security tab properties in right-clicking the said folder.

PK3's should be fine with the cleaner and a clean install, and he is running as an admin. :P Hence why I am suggesting bypassing the shortcuts and/or UAC. ;) As for the issue with connecting, it could be an issue with your hosts file... that's why I was wondering which state it got to in the connection.

PK3 Cleaner removes tmp, ~~~, and pid files, but don't think it can spot or remove damaged PK3's. Assuming he uses an "User Account", launch ET installer with admin rights could help too. The connection issue is probably the consequence of missing\damaged PK3('s), what imho causes this timing out during the connection.

I always run ET in compatibility mode and as administrator to avoid errors, this is set up correctly.

Checked etmain and etkey is listed under the files in that folder.

Yes, this is on Windows 7.

I have added admin rights to the ET.exe, no changes.

Also turning off UAC brought no changes.

The failed pure check is on the silEnT 0.8.1 server, the timeout is on Jaymod 2.2.0 sever. It takes forever to finally get these errors to pop up though. Been trying to get a screenshot yesterday, but it kept loading for over an hour.

Tried it all, but it is still stuck on loading :(

If i do a clean install I get the same loading screen issue. With a clean install it downloads the PK3 files again, I wouldn't have damaged files then right?

i think u should save etkey and then delete the et folder and then reinstall it

sense this has worked before and now it doesnt  its not your pc .. or your software..

you have dled a bad tmp, file or a pak 3 is corrupt .. i would go into my et and clean it out..

you could take out whole mod folder and try to reconnect to server..

and maybe the servers you playing at are bad mmm k..

you can not connect to silent mod with pub loaded it doesnt work.

but as you describe your problem Game code (ui_mp_x86.dll) failed pure server” this is a bad install. you need to uninstall it correctly save your keys and silent ids and wipe it off your pc correctly .. you i believe didnt do this correctly. where did you dled et from.

i run wxp sp3 too. you dont need to check run as admin..

The redundancy here is killing me. Everybody, take a breath and make sure you read everything that's going on before saying the same thing that 2-3 other people have.
Thank you for not spamming my inbox. *cough*

Besides, the problem is fixed now as far as I can tell.

It isn't fixed yet. I can connect to servers, but there are two servers that keep getting stuck.

If I check these servers on gametracker.com it states that I am logged on but my client says its still loading.

I have no idea what has happened or why I can't get in.

As Xernicus said, I already tried everything that has been mentioned in this topic and yes it has been done correct.

I think I just have to give up trying to get on these servers and play somewhere else :)

Just hoping the working servers won't go stuck on me too.
