Occasionally when playing ET my keyboard 'messes up', not sure how to describe it. When I press W too often, for example, it seems to stays locked on W (not literally the key on my keyboard) and I keep running even though I'm no longer pressing the key. This happens quite often and it's really annoying. I'm sure it's a particular setting but no idea which, I'm running Windows 8. Any suggestions?

Thanks

1. Verify sticky keys is disabled.

2. Update Intellipoint.

3. Age of keyboard? Make/Model of keyboard? Have you spilled anything inside it?

There is a chance that the keyboard mapping is sticking together for the W key. there is also a possibility that the rubber domes in your keyboard have collapsed, since the W key is commonly used in games, and if the dome is in fact collapsed, it is making contact because nothing is springing it back up. You can sometimes verify this just by removing the key and looking inside. Other times you'll need to disassemble the entire keyboard to access them.

Lol, thanks for the replies. I forgot to mention it's a laptop, Samsung NP355V5C, and it happens on multiple keys so not just the W or capslock. I've only had it for half a year so the keys are fine I guess. I checked sticky keys and it's disabled but I guess it has to be a setting like that which causes this to happen.

I had this happen to me awhile ago, if it's only happening in ET, then it's probably either a driver issue or your internet connection needs optimizing. All I know is that after some tinkering with my keyboard drivers and my internet connection (using Speedguide's TCP Optimizer), everything works like a champ. :D

It's worth giving it a shot anyways, before spending money. ;)

Good luck! :)

This was going to be my next suggestion since it's only 6 months old. Good call :D

Jehovah: Check all your drivers, and check that Intellipoint is updated (I assume windows 8 still used it)
