spidermonkey Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 I have never really been interested in reading but I need to start so I can expand on my vocabulary and improve reading skill. Only problem is that I cant find a book that i enjoy reading. Does anyone have a suggestion on a good book to read? Quote
Midnight Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 What topic interest you, or genres? What kind of movies do you watch? Quote
Heretic121 Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 I found the Discworld novels incredibly good... seriously, I still go back and re-read them. Quote
Bean Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 "Pirates of Venus" by Edgar Rice Burroughs. It's retro Sci-Fi. Quote
excedo Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 Depends on what kind of books you like, Horror? Comedy? Biographic? War? I personally like War books. Prague Winter: A Personal Story of Remembrance and War is a very good book. Quote

draperion Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 Like everyone has been saying, genre changes everything. So find a genre you look. I've always enjoyed the medieval RPG video games and such, so fantasy books are my favourite. Once you find your preferred genre, make sure you have an available supply of them. There's nothing worse than finding a series you like and not being able to get the last book. Quote
Clan Friend SunLight Posted March 19, 2014 Clan Friend Posted March 19, 2014 If there is a movie or tv series you liked, and it's taken from a novel you can start from there Sometimes you just have to start doing something, when you start reading a book it might be boring at first (sometimes) but maybe you will get more and more interested as you read If you don't like fiction you can read a book about a topic you like, like science or similar things. Or you can try audiobooks, but that's not reading skill Quote
