Popular Post Thundercats Posted February 26, 2014 Popular Post Posted February 26, 2014 This just happened... I went to the store to pick up my son from work. I was going down the back side of the parking lot and some douche bag cut me off!! I raised my hands and was like what the f***. Now mind you I didn't give him the finger. So douche bags cut to the right to let me pass and I was like awe, thank you. Next thing he slams on the gas and pulls up next to me and cuts in front of me and slams on the breaks. So I roll down my window and ask if there is a problem. Now mind you I am keeping calm. He starts swearing at me and calling me words I have never heard before. Now he calls me the word one word hate most. You know the one that starts with C and ends with T. He tries to tells me that I am driving to fast. So i ask him if he has a speedometer in the car and he of-course says no. So i tell him nicely to STFU and go away. (In a calm voice) Now mind you this is causing a scene. Now he takes it to the next level. He gets out of his car and has a baseball bat. Now mind you in the state of Illinois that is called aggravated assault. However the good part. So I get out of the car and pull out my .45 pistol and ask him nicely to get in his car and drive away. Now the great state just passed the concealed weapon law. lets just say he drives off in a hurry and I get a standing ovation. What a penis! 15 Quote
draperion Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 Aww man, that is classic! I applaud you Thunder. Idiot was clearly looking for a fight, didn't realize you could have a gun. Quote

funkywinkerbean Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 (edited) Nicely done TC. Good to know that one more state understands that law abiding citizens with guns actually deter crime. Remember folks, the police can stop a crime when they see it happening but most of the time their job starts once the crime has already been commited. You have to protect yourself and your family! gaskarthx Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 Woah, good job man! I like the fact that you stayed very calm c:Honestly I'd be really scared if a dude came towards me with a baseball bat o.o. 1 Quote
Thundercats Posted February 26, 2014 Author Posted February 26, 2014 Years of being a Marine I guess. the dude was like 6'6" tall. But size don't matter 1 Quote

Ol Smoke Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 You are lucky he didn't pull out the "Sword of Omens" and go Jaga all over you. Quote

Uuuh your argument is invalid. He's lucky that the guy hadn't a firearm, because in this case I don't think you could have said "citizens with guns actually deter crime" and it could have ended in a bloodbath. Moreover such situations also occur in countries where firearm aren't legal, it doesn't make those countries more "harmful" or sth or our families less protected. But I'm not here to start a debate about that, and I guess thundercat did the only thing he could do in this case 3 Quote

Thundercats Posted February 27, 2014 Author Posted February 27, 2014 I am pretty sure I would have dropped him before he had time to raise it. Quote
Antichrist Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 This is why I own guns myself. Never had to use one, and hope I don't have to. If I do, I'm ready to defend myself. 'Murica! Now had this guy pulled a gun out instead of a bat, and Thunder didn't have his gun, which is what you prefer, then we would have another memorial for a lost Clan member. If the guy pulls a gun, and Thunder has his gun to defend himself, at least he stands a chance. 1 Quote
Heretic121 Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 I think the point Kat0n was getting at was that the guy is less likely to have a gun, if guns aren't legal. Considering I've lived in the UK for the entirety of my life, I can't imagine the average Joe getting one. Therefore, the idea of legally holding a gun is an insane one to me. I can, in essence, see your point of view but it's incredibly different to mine and as such very hard to understand. 2 Quote
Thundercats Posted February 27, 2014 Author Posted February 27, 2014 Had he pulled a gun and I didn't have mine he better be ready to use it. I have learned being a Marine that many people can pull a gun but can't use. I am just glad nothing happened. The cops came by to follow-up on a call they received. Nice to know all the cops in my county. I never would have pulled my piece had he stayed in the car. 1 Quote
hester prynne Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 Well played sir. Good thing you were armed though. A 6'6 guy with a baseball bat is not a good combo for an unarmed man. 1 Quote
