HELLFIRE Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 Hey guys, I was wondering if someone was planning on making a fa android forum app? I don't have the skill yet, but I think it would be a more efficient was to keep in touch with the peeps :-) Quote
Xernicus Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 I've been meaning to get around to giving it a shot for about a month now. I don't think I'd have a problem coding it, I just have to download the dev kit for Android first. The app would have to be sideloaded in order to bypass those stupid region restrictions Google puts on the Play Store, I'd imagine that would be better however.I can also write an F|A app for iOS and Windows as well, the order would probably go something like this:Android, Windows 8, iOS, Windows Phone. 2 Quote
Dddrgn Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 I would most likely post far more often if there was a mobile app, I use my phone a lot for that kind of thing. Quote
JamesRyan Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 there's a pretty good mobile version if you open the site on your mobile browser! so no need for a app(just my 2 cents) Quote
Octane Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 Agreed. I use the mobile version on a galaxy s3 works fine Quote
Xernicus Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 The mobile site works great- it's honestly jawdroppingly amazing. There are, however a few things that aren't easily accessible, or are unintuitive on the mobile site, that I could add access to via an app. Here's a few of the things: Profiles with detailed information "Your Content" YouTube integration (it works on Android and Windows, but it doesn't on iOS) That's all I can think of for now, but I'm sure there's more. I know I've been frustrated by the mobile site at times, even opening up the full version and using it on my 5 inch screen (which isn't easy) out of impatience or being unable to access what I want. The first beta (or alpha) release that I make will probably be more of a wrapper than anything else. From theres I'll integrate features like subscribed posts, people's profiles, easy to access contact info (right now xfire info is not displayed on mobile site), admin level... (which isn't displayed on mobile site)I'm not too concerned about the "likes" or "reputation", but I could throw something in like that too. 1 Quote

But, the mobile version works fine though. Quote
