Death_Reincarnated
Here is some more reading - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Newton's_law_of_universal_gravitation - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Equivalence_Principle - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gravitation In these links you will find more inforamtion regarding deviation from the general gravitational theories - which are basically derived from Galileo's and Newton's work. I shall leave a quote as well "No amount of experimentation can ever prove me right; a single experiment can prove me wrong." I shall leave a quote as well "No amount of experimentation can ever prove me right; a single experiment can prove me wrong." Albert Einstein "But before mankind could be ripe for a science which takes in the whole of reality, a second fundamental truth was needed, which only became common property among philosophers with the advent of Kepler and Galileo. Pure logical thinking cannot yield us any knowledge of the empirical world; all knowledge of reality starts form experience and ends in it. Propositions arrived at by purely logical means are completely empty as regards reality. Because Galileo saw this, and particularly because he drummed it into the scientific world, he is the father of modern physics -- indeed, of modern science altogether." Prince*Jedi
This thread sometimes reminds me of the MENSA newsgroup on UseNet, but with many fewer trolls. "A proud mind and a beggar's purse, agree ill together" said a philosopher . I am happy not to be in this category personally.
sleeper
But Jedi - how do you know time, space, gravity, acceleration aren't just spectacles through which humans see the world? How could you have knowledge of gravity? You might say, through observation, then I would ask: Is it not possible that it's just something our brain makes up: an illusion that has maybe has no correspondence in reality? Observation can't give as "truth" (whatever that is), it can only give as a basis to make nice predictions (Galileos activity).

Experience or experiment ? yes ! “All truths are easy to understand once they are discovered; the point is to discover them.†- Galileo Galilei Edited October 22, 2013 by Prince*Jedi
