parrot Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 Ok, installed Debian Squeeze 64bit. Everything works super fine, except microphone in Teamspeak. When I test the mic in the options menu, it registers my voice on the graph thingy. Yet no one can hear me. Tried Audacity, and the mic works fine. Any ideas? btw, pulseaudio is NOT installed, so it can't be that. default sound card that came integrated on the Asus P8Z68 deluxe gen 3 logitech headset, gamecom some shit Quote
jaie Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 His icon would flash blue when he spoke, but no one could hear him talking. I turned my volume to full but stlil couldn't hear any sound. Quote
Clan Friend SunLight Posted April 17, 2013 Clan Friend Posted April 17, 2013 Can you hear your own voice while you test your TS settings? 1 Quote
The_Dom Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 Phoenix had similar problems, although a lot of other things along with it, but it was a driver issue. It started with nothing working, then we were able to work with some of the settings and changed headset to where we got it to a point to where it would work until he joined COD, then his mic would go out. He updated his soundcard driver and it fixed everything. I am guessing driver. But SunLight is also correct, check to see if it it works in the test under tools-options-capture (I think that is the path) in TS. edit: some on the web are saying this fixed it http://dontsurfinthenude.blogspot.com/search/label/microphone edited edit: another said the last comment on this page http://alsa.opensrc.org/index.php?title=Record_from_mic&oldid=3399 fixed it. parrot Posted April 21, 2013 Author Posted April 21, 2013 I just installed Ubuntu 13.04 and called it a day. Working fine now. Forgot to save my homework program I had just written though :S Thanks fellas Quote
Clan Friend SunLight Posted April 21, 2013 Clan Friend Posted April 21, 2013 Forgot to save my homework program I had just written though :Soops... you should have put it in another partition, but it happened to me as well... I have a second 'test' Arch partition that I re-clone or rsync with the main one every now and then, and sometimes I lose data hopefully it wasn't too long to rewrite do you have any idea why TS didn't work before? Quote
parrot Posted April 22, 2013 Author Posted April 22, 2013 no. The mike worked with audacity, and while running TS I could hear myself speaking through MY headphones. The light turned blue in TS, but no one could hear it. I think somehow my mike input was getting sent to my speakers and not to TS. Quote
LA_Kings_Fan Posted April 23, 2013 Posted April 23, 2013 (edited) Might be a good place for me to add my Question / problem with TeamSpeak 3 .... I'd love to get this figured out ... (I even posted it on the TS web Support Forums, and got NO ANSWER or HELP from the TeamSpeak crew, maybe someone here has an Idea ?) ====================================================================================================================== I'm getting an issue with severe LAG while running TeamSpeak 3 and COD 4 v 1.6 ... never had issue one with COD4 until running Teamspeak with it ... shouldn't be my hardware ... - Intel core i7 2600k Over-Clocked @ 4.6 GHz- Asus ROG Maximus IV Gene Z-68 Motherboard- CPU Cooler is a Noctua NH-U9B SE2- Crucial M4 CT128M4 SSD for BOOT / OS Drive- Crucial M4 CT064M4 SSD for Intel SRT Cache Drive- WesternDigital Caviar Black WD1002FAEX HDD for Storage Drive- Sapphire TOXIC HD-6950 Graphics card, Un-Locked & Over-Clocked @ 950 MHz / 1400 MHz / 1536 shaders- 16 GB of CORSAIR Vengeance DDR3 RAM @ 1600 MHz- running MS Win 7 Pro {64 bit SP1}- USB Headset & Mic, using onboard REALTEK Sound chip, w/ latest R2.70 6.0.1.6662 Drivers And my Verizon FiOS connection shouldn't be an issue I don't think ? should be plenty fast enough and not have bandwidth issues ? Normally COD4 running w/o TeamSpeak I could be doing 333+ FPS if the server I played on permitted it, but it is running at a constant 250 FPS ... I start running TeamSpeak and it lags and drops the more I use TeamSpeak, from 250 FPS down to 45 FPS all the way down to 1 FPS : to where COD4 wouldn't respond and had to be closed ? THIS CAN"T BE GOING ON WITH EVERYONE, so what gives ? It has to be a software conflict, Driver Issue or something I'd assume ... I Googled it and did a FRESH install of Team Speak onto the same SSD drive as COD4, added TeamSpeak to exceptions lists on my AV (Kaspersky & Malawarebytes), and yet still the issue persists ... I can run COD4 all day at 250 FPS w/o TeamSpeak, but 15 to 20 minutes into using TeamSpeak, and the more people on it talking, the worse and faster my COD4 performance degrades and I have to shut down. Only other thing I can find googled conflicts is with BF3 ... and this = http://www.overclock...ad.php?t=702364so tried shutting off the News Feed Scroll Ticker, and running as administrator under WIN 7 to see if that helps, but nope ... same LAG to Game unresponsive. I've tried it with the overlay on and off ... same results either way ... COD 4 eventually becomes unplayable and if I wait and drag it out long enough will become unresponsive and unstable, needing to be shut down and restarted. Played COD4 tonight for 4+ hours w/o TeamSpeak 3 turned on, and NO ISSUES at all, game itself runs like a champ ... there's some conflict between the two programs for me, or it's Team Speak related only, though I can use and talk to people on TS without issue, just not BOTH Game on COD4 and use TeamSpeak ? DOES ANYONE ELSE have any issues like this ? and/or advice on what could be causing it ? Edited April 23, 2013 by LA_Kings_Fan Quote
The_Dom Posted April 23, 2013 Posted April 23, 2013 does this only happen with 1.6 or does it do it with 1.7 too? 1 Quote
jaie Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 try remove your headset and see if the same thing happens Quote
Prince*Jedi Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 Some microphones as external sound cards, like instruments ( Music keyboards) are not recognized on windows 64 bits ( It is not new ). Some are , some are not , some needs specifics drivers for 64 bits . Notice, when a mic , a sound card or instrument works on 64 bits you see it in the owner manual : mac , Windows XP3 , Windows 7, 8 ( 32 bits & 64 bits ) . When u don t see ( 32 & 64 bits ) it mean your headphone , your instrument , or your external sound card , work only on 32 bits Quote
