XP Whoring?

this might be best if, like previously stated, be more clarrified.

 

For instance if your playing and you say something and some1 responds to it in a pm, its only natural that you respond to it.

maybe its best if there could be a rule saying something like: you can respond to pms if you try to move and kill in the meantime (or engi or so) and look for a safe spot if you like to respond.

Or maybe be able to stand there for up to 3 minutes or so.

 

Just saying some ideas for making it easier for all in the future and to stop these kinda discussions

I can see where Rumble is coming from. I have played FA servers alot,and have been a victim of getting put to spec while actually playing. It has happened twice but it is no big deal,, i was just backing fellow player on his post.

I personally would view it as acceptable, granted you were helping your team (Giving ammo/health at the spawn IS considered helping and active playing). However, it would completely depend on the circumstances of the map, team, scores, and amount of people doing it. XP whoring by yourself is allowed (In my opinion) if you're not going afk, however having a big circle of people doing it would be considered a bit overkill. Again, all depends on the circumstances.

The map had been drawing close to Allies getting 3rd to last obj completed, less then 10 people per team *I don't remember exactly how many* Alacrity and I received 0 PM's from him and yes like I said, It's not like we got kicked/banned BUT, It is the principal of the ordeal that made me upset.. I am a constant regular on the server, Always polite, and I never overstep an admin or casual players for that matter. Not saying I should get special treatments because of this, But I should at least get the opportunity to be consulted like a community reg, not just another number on the guid list..

I'm not saying the admin in question made the right or wrong choice, I'm simply stating my opinion on XP whoring. However, I just want to point out that, again in my opinion, if you're a "community regular" or not, you shouldn't get special treatment that other players wouldn't get (Besides the obvious trust of admin levels). You're still just a regular player, just like I'm still a regular player. That being said, I wouldn't consider your actions "special treatment" in this case, as I would allow any player, given the circumstances, to do what you were doing.

Its a "Fun" server and I would have assumed it would be taken as such and not "A push here and a push there, Now walk in a straight, single file line, Soldier! Or leave" As long as I am playing the game, helping in someway, why should it matter?

You're getting the wrong impression from my statement, please try not to put statements into my.. fingers.. that I would never say I believe every player should get treated with respect, period. Admin levels mean nothing on a game, when it comes to respect. I'm not going to call you a faggot because you're a level 1, and then kiss Joe's ass because he's a 20. I believe every player, no matter their level, xp, name, gender, nationality, or any other factor, should get treated with the same respect.

 

As for the rest of your statement, I have done nothing but agree with you over and over in my previous statements. I personally have no problem with your gameplay, as your "XP Whoring" was helping the team and not breaking any current F|A rules. Like I've also said, the conditions and circumstances are always varying, and should be looked at in each complaint when it comes to a grey-area such as this. Continuing, as it's a "grey-area", it should be up to each admin's own choice as to how they'd treat this situation, based on those conditions and such. If, say, there's one player doing it, and they're active at it, it shouldn't be a problem. If there's 4 or 5 people doing it, which would be destroying the balance of the teams, they should get a warning or same-level appropriate action. It is a Fun server, you can do what you want, and in this case I believe, personally, that you were in the right. But I'm not going to go around saying you can do what you want based on your activity on the server or forums, I'll go around saying you can do what you want simply because it's a server and clan based on the principle of having fun, and every player has that right.

 

That's all I'm saying. I'm not calling you out or trying to argue.

And if this was such a "Grey-Area" should Roadkill NOT of talked to the other =FA= members that were on, to inquire the decision? Why does he get to be Judge/Jury/Executioner? Especially when there were more =FA= members then just him on? And he still has yet to come on the forums to justify this for himself.. There are several "Grey-areas" my friend, non of which tread in my path, however.

Roadkill was trusted with his admin level, whatever it may be, simply because the general staffing felt he was ready to make those high-level choices on his own. If he chooses not to confer with other members on his actions, that's his choice. I think taking this to a public forum with such apparent "vendetta" and "anger" is slightly uncalled for. If you want to continue with your statement that he was in the wrong, maybe you should PM him on the forums or in-game and get the answer to your questions. If you want to have a discussion about XP Whoring, then this thread would have purpose. But from what I can see at this late hour, it seems like you're just holding a grudge at this point.

Its a public post because it is a very public topic on public game play within the ET servers, why hide such matters under concealed eye? As I have said on multiple counts, I have ran a clan;and have given admin powers to those deserving of it, to my servers. Respect was a major concern *I'm sure =FA= is no different* we use to go over with ALL are admins, it was the biggest of issues with us. For him to not respond to me or say anything other then "You were XP Whoring" after the fact, is a little rude, given the amount of questions asked afterwards. And as i said Pickle, I am "A little upset, over the matter". I suppose I could try and contact Roadkill myself, but then what? that only would spark a smolder.. He obviously came on, was having a bad day or something and took it out on us; Its as simple as. No, I would brake words directly with the man himself and maybe a few other higher ups to sort this out. Hopefully.

Seriously guys.. Could you stop this drama please.. Like you recalled it, it's a game.. And games are made to get fun, not to dedicate our time on those kinds of childish storys.. If the admin was wrong he has probably seen this thread.. If you were wrong, you're anyway not banned or anything else.. If your feelings were hurted, we are sorry.. Rules are here in case of needed, and until solid proofs been provided about an admin abuse, stop arguing on it eternally please.. Really, this looks more like a dispute between old mamas than anything else..

whats to sort out you got put spec ....weather it was dealt with right or wrong you got put to spec get over it and hop back on and play this has gotten to be ridiculous yes you say you were playing the admin may have made a mistake they happen.
