Sparhawk Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 I can't believe that this didn't exist yet. Consider this Final Fantasy general. This is probably the most popular RPG series out there, next to Pokemon. The series is responsible for saving Square from bankruptcy, and was intended to be their final game, hence the name. And let me say this right now, Nobuo Uematsu is a f*ckin badass. The soundtracks for the various FInal Fantasy games are just as popular and successful as the games themselves. Here are links to some VERY popular tracks: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oxZlJGtFGcw http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h-0G_FI61a8 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3YNfX1oU2XA Another two very common ones are the Prelude and Terra's Theme, but apparently I have exceeded the maximum number of video files =.= If you have anything in particular to say for this series, this is the place. Myself, my Final Fantasy began with IV, which remains my favorite game in the series to-date. Back when GBA's were still popular, I would waste my time whittling away on the bosses. I have since gotten the DS remake, and still love it. Then came Final Fantasy V, and while the story line was, to put it bluntly, horrendous, the gameplay and job system was very intresting, and made this game noteworthy. The last Final Fantasy game that I've played, and one which comes VERY close to my favourite, is Final Fantasy VI. The storyline, the music, the characters, everything was just spectacular. That game should be, and almost is, the most recognized game in the entire series. Pretty much all the other games, including the DIssidia spin offs, I've either played a little bit off or watched videos on YouTube on, so I can safely say that I know every storyline in the Final Fantasy series, and I'm glad I do. This game stands out more than most when I think of the word "childhood." It will always remain that way. To all you die-hard FF fans out there! Lux ~ Quote
Chameleon Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 FFVII was life changing for me... The story the battle system the characters.. I still think to this day Sephiroth was the baddest of bad guys ever and Cloud one of the most prolific heroes in gaming. The FF series changed gaming for me 100% 1 Quote

Saizou Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 Played VII and X only. Both were good games with decent stories, tho I never actually finished either one of them. For some reason people hate on Tidus (I'd say flamboyant clothes have something to do with it), but he's really what stands out in contrast to the grim setting of that world. FFX music is something simply amazing, To Zanarkand is my favourite music piece ever. When you hear it playing for the first time in the game intro, it immidiately captures you. And when you realize what the scene in the intro is actually about, it becomes even better. Quote

Shinobi Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 I loved all the Final Fantasy games!! X and VII were the best in my opinion. In fact if you go to my profile I have the old trailer for Final Fantasy Versus XIII which is said to be in production. I have a feeling that the storyline will be amazing and have a taste of many different dramas. Lots of the gameplay for Versus XIII is also in a third person shooter which is new and pretty interesting! My avatar is based off the main character Noctis Quote

(Snake) Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 Best games ever! <3 By the way, there was some other topics about final fantasy: http://fearless-assassins.com/topic/1772-final-fantasy/ http://fearless-assassins.com/topic/10042-the-two-best-rpgs/ But doesn't care! Quote
SinfulRaevyn Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 <3 Final Fantasy. So many great tales spread across a good many games. However, when it comes to the 'newer' games, I have not touched a single one. I started back on the Nintendo console when FF first appeared. I have played every one to come out up to FF 12, including the remakes. I actually own the most of the collection (aside from the newest games), including the games that came out for gameboy. (Original GB) I've wanted to play the newest ones for a bit, but sadly I am not into the new generation of consoles, so I pray for PC ports or emulation in the future. My favorite games are: FF2, FF4, FF8, X, tactics and the gamecube releases. I have probably beaten #4 5+ times, and 8 at least 10 times. xD Love the story writing Anyhow, as for music- This is one of my favorite tracks from FF8. First time i played this game, and this opening track played I just marveled how amazing it was. Square-Enix is probably one of my favorite companies for any RPG. Even their Non FF series are amazing. Quote
FiveMagic Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 FF4, 7 & X were my faves. Also loved Crisis Core:FF7 on the Psp, not the best gameplay but it had a great story and graphics. Quote
Chameleon Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 I wish I could "Like" everyone of these comments! FF to me was the greatest series ever! Quote
