Achiyan Posted June 21, 2012 Posted June 21, 2012 Le stupid kids breaking their le stupid necks, no thanks I love myself to much to do something idiotic like this. And how is this a sport? and other people love themselves too much to live a 'boring' life. I understand the extreme sports world perfectly. We see things differently. For instance, because I skate, I see hand rails differently than 'boring, regular' people. Most people see a hand rail as something to assist them in descending/ascending a flight of stairs. Skaters see them in a totally different perspective. We want to balance ourselves atop them and continue to develop this skill. Besides, name me single sport (conventional or non-conventional) where you are not risking getting hurt? I agree with this.I wouldn't risk to hurt myself just to do a so called sport. When i tried this thing out i had only problems. Not only because i almost broke my hand but because there are a lot of people who think that if you want to climb on a garage for example you want to steal something. Problem = almost broke hand? I think the problem was that you were scared, and above that, lacked determination. There isn't a soul on this earth that was born good at something. Besides, what are you gonna steal from the roof? A sattelite dish and a few tiles? Get outta here. what im tryin to say is that you shouldnt bag on people because of what they do Quote
Bugs Bunny Posted July 14, 2012 Posted July 14, 2012 I would not do it. its all cool til someone slips and breaks their neck and is paralyzed for life! true story seen it happen to a guy, used to be a good friend of mine, and now he has been stuck in a wheel chair since he was 14. Quote
bell reavue Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 Sorry about this old topic but I love parkour. You guys complain it's dangerous, have you ever watched football?! Or how about boxing or lacrosse...are these not dangerous? The people who are the best at parkour are like other professional athletes, they practice. Any sport is dangerous if an untrained idiot is attempting it. So don't hate on parkour...because it requires strength, balance and grace and is awesome to watch. Here's my favorite video (it actually starts at 2:10) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7lMR2BVGlRk Quote
Davidjb7 Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 Okay people! All you naysayers need to come with me to the Gym or Streets. So first: Parkour has 2 injuries per 1000 hours, Soccer (Though I still love it) has 7.4, Football has 16! Parkour is the safest sport other than table tennis. Fact. Now, on to the fun part, parkour is NOT an extreme sport, it is all about getting all the different parts of your body to work together at once. I just went to an Open Gym today, and learned to do a wallflip/standing backflip. I see a wall and I think "I can climb up that". Next, there is no goal to parkour except this: Have fun, Be active, Exercise, and show off. All good reasons to do something. So lay off people! Parkour is so much more of a sport than anything else. Just saying. Quote
Octane Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 man i love parkour, me and my friend try our best to invent new things everytime we go to the park. I have to disagree Davidjb7! lol , i get hurt all the time doing to high of jumps or backflips, bending ankles or arms all the time! lol Quote
BAMA Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 We call it "freerunning" here. I do not consider this a sport, but,, with a couple of hungry pitbulls behind them,,well i may consider that a sport lol. Quote
Mr_47 Posted April 10, 2013 Posted April 10, 2013 Le parkour EX DEE 9gag army! No but seriously, please don't ever do that again. Also, it's really easy to injure yourself while doing parkour if you don't know exactly what you're doing. Quote
kapone Posted May 14, 2013 Posted May 14, 2013 Haha Ecoban, I love the office and that episode made me crack up. On a side note, the movie District B13 (which the clips are from in the original video) is a good movie if you enjoy parkour. It is a french movie, seen it a while ago. 1 Quote

Davidjb7 Posted December 28, 2013 Posted December 28, 2013 I was at the movie theater yesterday with my girlfriend and we were coming out the back of the movie and it was on the second story so they had a metal catwalk on down to the ground. But all the stupid people were blocking it ( Just like Cod4 :/ ) So I jumped the railing landed 15 feet below in a roll went and started the car brought around and picked her up. It was so perfect. I love parkour. Quote
