vke Posted November 3, 2011 Share Posted November 3, 2011 Just reinforces the fact that we are on a rock, orbiting a giant nuclear furnace, which is pretty small compared to the other stars that we can accurately measure. Our sun is actually a 3rd generation star, and the first generation star would have been roughly the size of antares, after it went supernova it formed a star roughly equivalent to pollux.
