Star Size Comparison

Just reinforces the fact that we are on a rock, orbiting a giant nuclear furnace, which is pretty small compared to the other stars that we can accurately measure.

 

Our sun is actually a 3rd generation star, and the first generation star would have been roughly the size of antares, after it went supernova it formed a star roughly equivalent to pollux. That star blew up and became the solar system.

 

Astronomy is so cool :geek:
