Which settings are you using? You can make the game brighter in several ways... 1. set a higher r_gamma (will change instantly) 2. other cvars (you need to /vid_restart after a change for these ones) r_intensity, r_mapoverbrightbits, r_overbrightbits, and if you use windows there's also r_ignorehwgamma try for example: /r_gamma 2.3 /r_intensity 1.1 /r_mapoverbrightbits 3 /r_overbrightbits 1 it should become much brighter...
