From what I gather, he's irritated that every time he starts up the game resolution defaults to 800*600, instead of 1920*1080.

This solution works for me, I modified my autoexec.cfg in etmain and it changes resolution at game start to correct one. What I can think of here is that game has multiple autoexec configs, one in etmain and one in practically every mod folder, so you might want to try modifying all of them and see if it works. It has to work, the trick here is finding the right config to edit to make it work at start so you don't need to /exec your config manually.

It loaded some config file with 800x600 resolution, but where from?

 

I had same problem, I set in Jaymod resolution but it loaded the default 800x600. After I changed it in ETMAIN it works fine now. So I guess you have to change config file under ETMAIN also.

placed in the config folder Etmain from your NQ, removed all unnecessary cfg and it worked.

 

But to configure the mouse for your monitor can not.

say that the game is designed not for widescreen. And so you do not want to play in 4:3

Hm I play on 16:10 aspect ratio monitor with no problems.

 

Do you have mouse acceleration on in Windows\game? you can adjust your mouse speed in game? or am I still missing something.
