BattleFlag Posted January 14, 2011 Posted January 14, 2011 +1 i tried to play again 1 map on jaymond and i got owned... or lets say my ratio was ~1, not more on etpub and hardcore i normally have around 2 but i think i just have to get used to different settings (doublejump + much more players -->chaos) aiming is also very different on etpub/pro + hardcore when u have to kill one in front of u...u normally just have to move left+right on jaymond instead u often have to move also more up and down (hopping) but we could say a good player is a good player...if he plays on jaymond or etpro..he/she would still own...u just need to get used to settings -1 now are 3 or 4 month i play etpub.. and i played 1 year and half on jaymod..now for me jaymod is too easy.. yes more ppl/chaos etc, but etpub is so much slow in comparison with jaymod.. and when i use adre on jaymod is really too easy.. when u know how play slowly, jaymod is really easy.. (ok on jaymod there are more nabs) but maybe is coz i played so much time jaymod and i know how to play there, but now im more precision and learned how to move good the player..same example when i played always jay2, and i tried jay3.. i know how shoot slowly, and jay3 was more easy.. Clan Friend SunLight Posted January 14, 2011 Clan Friend Posted January 14, 2011 imho the difference between etpro/etpub and jaymod is that jaymod is more 'random', meaning that you can be fragged by players who are worse than you, because of many reasons: - panzer/flamer/mortar/arty/fag42/you name it - 1000vs1 situations - adrenaline - extremely lagging players So if I play in some uberpro slac server, where they votekick nubs so there are no beginners, and where every single player can beat me in 1on1, or is more or less like me, I give the same damage I receive (if I play well, so no mp3s, etc.). Then I switch to jaymod, and every player moves and warps so fast, super lags, 100vs1 fights where the only valid tactic would be not to leave spawn, mortar kills, etc. and the result is that I give the same damage I receive, but among those 20+ opponents there could barely be 2-3 who can beat me in a regular 1on1 without lags. Of course this also means that I never get huge k/d on etpro while on jaymod sometimes I do, but still I often give and receive the same damage there, And I am sure that an etpro player who owns on etpro servers would own less in jaymod in comparison. Because the skill difference is reduced by all those factors I mentioned, or maybe because someone who is used to play etpro plays with a different style, which is not suitable for jaymod... Quote

Of the all the guys that play at the time I play, McCloud is one of the better ones. There is another guy I was playing with this morning who is also very good. I'd like to say, this question should be just for Etpub(now silent), HardCore and Etpro, just in those mods you can found a good shooter. Jaymod is full of bad situations than can make you do a bad selection. I can do 10 or more killersprees in jaymod, when in silent atleast 1. Quote

Clan Friend SunLight Posted January 16, 2011 Clan Friend Posted January 16, 2011 imho if you can aim you can aim in every mod. the only difference is that some mods favor aim over movement, or adren usage, or lame netsettings, so who really owns usually gets around 47-50 accuracy, in other mods instead you can own and have 37-40 acc, but still you need skill, after all it's the same game for everyone. Of course players who rely on being unhittable to win fights, will get worse in mods with better antiwarp and more restricted settings (etpro for example), because their accuracy is actually low, and they win only because whoever is facing them gets a low accuracy too because of their warping. Those who 'own' only afks or players whose skill is so bad that they are comparable to afks, and 'own' only if teams are stacked, when they play against better players (from lowskill minimum and up), must change their tactics or they will lose. But those who are good are good even if they play jaymod. The only difference is that, imho, there is a wider range of skill on etpro. For example I have seen some jaymod 'owners' on etpro, and they are average (they give 2x dmg ratio on jay and 1x on etpro, given=received) now, do you think that those players who give 2x ratio on etpro would give 4x on jaymod? Hard to tell, because they don't play there, but getting constantly 4x damage ratio as medic is a bit hard even for them, so imho the difference between good and bad is somewhat reduced on jaymod, because of all that chaos and random situations, I am curious to know what you all think about this thing Quote

No, i don't said that. I mean, you are worst in Silent than in Jaymod, lot of people learn how to play in Jaymod, but there are: Double jumpers. Adren lovers. 10 vs 1 You can train your aim with those guys but the mod always change the way than you always played. I know BossHK is a good player, but i never saw him on silent or hardcore, i wish he come to play someday the same for the other good players than you do mention. Quote

I've met on a slac server a top et rater (I won't say who it is, since I can't be 100% sure it's him, only the name on slac site matches, so I think it is) and he was low, just like me, only that I have 0 rating We both had slightly negative or even damage ratios, while another (skilled) player had always 2x ratio (no random noname, I checked his slac guid to see who it was, and he is a known etpro player) That's the difference between skilled and mediocre/ordinary players like me and that guy. I don't say who it was since I don't feel like calling someone mediocre, except myself. It wouldn't be nice. But on jaymod he totally owns, much more than me, because I play with a different style or because I just suck on jay, I don't know. On etpro we have the same lowskill... Killfreak was never good at anything only whining, he gets the rate cause he camps, he joins my team always cause he know he will lose rate against me. nothing new here move along Quote
