Platinum VIP -=HipKat=- Posted Monday at 12:41 PM Platinum VIP Posted Monday at 12:41 PM I don't know why, but I have to increase my Sensitivity every few weeks. Let's say, a year ago, I might have been around 1.40, then 1.41, then 1.42 and so on and on until yesterday, I bumped again to 1.59, which is a massive difference from where it was a year ago. Several years ago it was 1.00. I've had the same computer for 3 years now (maybe 4) and have been on ETL for about the same amount of time. But it gets obvious I'm losing every one-on-one and not getting targeted fast enough, bump it up, and my KDA goes up a lot, until a week or two later, I have to do it again. Anyone else ever experienced this? 1 1 Quote
Solution ELSO Posted Monday at 02:45 PM Solution Posted Monday at 02:45 PM If your config is exactly the same, then it's just personal preference. Pro players adjust their sensitivity after some time as well. Every time your muscle memory gets used to new sens, you don't feel the difference from the previous sens anymore and your mind tells you it feels too slow. When I was younger, I played on slower sensitivity, then 9 years later it's already up by around 25% as I cba moving my mouse so much anymore. I have similar feeling to you but it's opposite - I feel like mine is too fast but whenever I try to lower it, I feel like a bot cause all my muscle memory is gone. 1 1 Quote
Haru Posted Monday at 06:07 PM Posted Monday at 06:07 PM You're just getting old Hip. Not even going to go into the horror story of what sensitivity I use, or I should say, don't use now. If you're losing a lot in 1v1's spend some time working on your movement/strafe and reaction speed. Tbh, just break down the game and work on anything. It's going to take more work on your part to play at the same level as when you were younger. 1 Quote

I believe this is probably the best answer. It's just an odd thing, isn't it? 1 hour ago, Haru said: You're just getting old Hip. I really don't comprehend how you can have precise aim but dammit, you do! 1 1 Quote

Not what I'm talking about, I mean I started changing my sensitivity back in the mid 20teens for probably the same reasons as you and have gotten to a point where I don't even make it through a single map with one sensitivity. I'll change it every few minutes until I find one that works but 99% of the time I'll be done playing well before that ever happens. It's a slippery slope Hip, be careful 😅 Changing it a bit to match your age is fine but just keep it limited. If you find yourself doing it often then instead take the time to break down each aspect of the game and practice them one by one. Losing 1v1 points more towards a movement issue over an aiming one so you should be working on your keyboard hand instead of adjusting your sensitivity. 1 1 Quote
HarryAimpotter Posted Tuesday at 04:03 AM Posted Tuesday at 04:03 AM Your sensitivity could feel different for real objective reasons like your mousepad surface getting older, also your mouse skates are maybe not so smooth anymore. I recommend doing the 360 degree/cm test, just to be sure, that your mouse software hasn't changed. 3 1 Quote

That test never seems to play out correctly once I'm in the game so I stopped using it a long, long time ago. Or, I just never did it right. My Mouse skates are smooth as glass but the mousepad is a few months old now, still, this has gone on for a long time now 12 hours ago, Haru said: Not what I'm talking about, I mean I started changing my sensitivity back in the mid 20teens for probably the same reasons as you and have gotten to a point where I don't even make it through a single map with one sensitivity. I just struggle with improving those skills when I'm being pounded by r_nades, arty spammers and no-skills running around throwing knives at everything that moves... lol Quote
whoamI Posted Tuesday at 12:17 PM Posted Tuesday at 12:17 PM Sensitivity is purely personal preference to be honest 😄 I use 0.99/400 in ETLegacy servers and 1.69/400 in jaymod, I personally change sensitivity if I feel off a certain day and usually revert it back later. Although I guess technically since I change resolutions/aspect ratio every other day you could say I'm always on a new sensitivity. Aging has a big part in it feeling slower/you feeling like you aren't being able to keep up. I would just suggest playing a bit higher than you are used to 😄 Also maybe you feel like you are performing worse since you already felt the need to change sensitivity and that might have something to do with your confidence etc. Sensitivity is just trial & error, just play around with it and I'm sure you will find the right one again! OliveiraptV Posted Tuesday at 12:48 PM Posted Tuesday at 12:48 PM happens to me to sometimes dont know why i always use the same sense for years but sometimes it seems with more sense then i normaly use and became hard to aim Quote

Well, yeah, I'm older but this is a steady increase, not back and forth and it becomes apparent whenever I feel like I can't "keep up" when strafing in a 1 on 1. That slight increase changes everything to where I can and the result shows up in my KDA and ACC. But like you, I use different FOV and Sensitivity depending on my targets (near or far) and between JM and ETL, and also both sens and resolution and FOV between MG and Sniper rifles Quote

Heh, I can easily outrun both of my kids. I'm not as young as I was but I'm very young for my age. I started with RTCW, too but why do I need to up my Sens every few weeks for a few years now?? I mean, I accept age is part of it but every 2-3 weeks? Edited 4 hours ago by -=HipKat=- Quote
