Element' Posted January 19 Posted January 19 (edited) Hello BulletX! Your system should be able to handle ET pretty well. What ET client are you using? I would try to use ETLegacy client (www.ETLegacy.com) as it has performance fixes for newer PC's. I used to run a 1650 super before I got my newer graphics card, handled ET really well. You can use /cg_fov in console to adjust your field of view to your liking. I use 110. The other thing I see is your monitor is 60hz so the max FPS you will be able to see is 60 true FPS. Would recommend getting a higher HZ monitor. I play on a 240hz monitor. There are plenty of configs here on the site if you wish to try some of them: Player Configs - Fearless Assassins Ele. BulletXx Posted January 19 Author Posted January 19 Thanks for the reply. That fov settings helped, thanks. I can just add a random cfg made for someone else to try? Looking for something that gives some better views, sometimes I spec players and they're shooting things I can't even see and getting headshots. Playing on a laptop, so can't upgrade the screen for higher hz Quote
Element' Posted January 19 Posted January 19 You could always hook your laptop to an external monitor too, if you have an HDMI port or Display Port that's what I used to do for a long time. Maybe a cfg expert can chime in about which is best for him, as I am not very well versed on all the configs out there. But yes, you can grab any config from the downloads and try it out. 1 Quote
Betinho Posted January 20 Posted January 20 I don't recommend playing with a notebook. Unless you use it as a PC and connect a good monitor of at least 144 Hz, otherwise I would think that you give many advantages to playing this kind of games. While your notebook seems good in terms of processor, memory, and GPU, I would look at other things that are very important too: as we said a good monitor, a mechanical keyboard (with red switch), https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qk6m8NuuBUg a good mouse with its good configuration https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BEk82hmVoc4 As for the screen: I leave you this suggestion, I had it for more than 5 years and it is really incredible for this game (it has Gsync compatibility and it is very cheap nowadays, I sold it because I needed a bigger one due to my age, I am already old haha): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vKjKkiTSlW0 1) resolution is fine for me 2) mouse sensitive 1 (m_pitch 0.004 and m_yaw 0.010) 3) crosshair tiny, primary colour white, secondary red 4) cg_fov 90 5) com_maxfps 160, after many tests, I think I'll stick with these FPS (I have a 32-inch 240hz monitor) Quote

I think here is the answer i think. If he got problems to see enemies, target, whatever, with fov 90 you will see bigger things, although less things of course. 1 Quote

There is no right or wrong answer here, you can use what ever feels comfortable to you. Truth be told, 90 fov is not very common. Having gone through a lot of (pro players) configs, I can confidently say that most of them use fov between 95 - 115. 3 Quote

I use a hotkey to toggle between 95 and 115, so if I'm firing across the map, 95 brings the targets "closer" Quote

Press once fov 90, press again fov 125... 1 Quote
