Gengis Posted September 8, 2023 Posted September 8, 2023 (edited) 1. ETL does not need to be run as administrator. It is not like 2.60b. So it is normal it didnt solve your problem. 2. Do what @Vice86 said. In step 2 uninstall first like he said. Gengis Edited September 8, 2023 by Gengis 1 Quote

18. hecho I have followed all the steps that you indicated to me. Uninstall and delete everything. Install again and create a new profile. And the error persists. I can log into the server but I can't join a team. Quote

Trucuflus Posted September 9, 2023 Author Posted September 9, 2023 Hello again. I have created a new user in windows 10 and installed ETL. Then I have copied my personal settings and everything seems to work fine. It's not the best solution, but for now it's all I can do. It is not very convenient to change users to be able to play ETL for a while. I would like to understand what my mistake was. Thanks for your help. Quote

What you should have tried is deleting the etconfig.cfg file(s) which would have forced ET to create a new default one the next time you started a game. I have seen a few times in my life where the etconfig file holds a "problem" cvar in place that is not normally in your own config, its why running your own config doesn't help as it probably doesn't have the problem cvar in it and is why its held in place until said cvar is wiped or replaced. By making a new windows user and installing ETL you have forced it to change the file locations for your user to your new user and it will have created a new etconfig.cfg file. For reference uninstalling and reinstalling on your first profile would not fix the issue unless you either remove all ETL registry keys etc or wipe all cvar settings and start again Sorry i couldn't help sooner but glad its sorted (ish). I think this was the problem. When I deleted my profile and all etconfig.cfg files I was able to join a team. When running my file I had an error in the console UI_GLCUSTOM..., I removed that line from my file and everything worked correctly. At the moment everything works, let's see how long it takes to mess it up again. Thank you very much for all your help. Quote
