REER Posted July 22, 2023 Posted July 22, 2023 I get annoyed with players like "?", he only plays in the attack team. If he's on the defending team after the shuffle, he goes spec. Often he is simply inactive until the game automatically send him spec. Afterwards, he immediately joins the attacking team, which he has weakened by his inactivity and also benefits from his unfair behavior. Quote

We appreciate your dedication to the game and your willingness to foster a positive gaming environment. It's crucial to ensure that everyone enjoys a fair and enjoyable experience while playing. We understand your frustration with players like "?", who seem to engage in unfair behavior, affecting the balance of the game. As administrators and moderators of the game's servers, we take such concerns seriously and are committed to maintaining a level playing field for all participants. We encourage you to report any disruptive behavior or unfair tactics exhibited by players, like "?", so that we can address these issues promptly and appropriately. (screenshots, demo, proper and official report) because sorry but this wont help when there is not admin around, report should be official and with evidence. In the meantime, we kindly ask all players to adhere to the spirit of sportsmanship while playing the game. Switching teams to balance the match is acceptable, but deliberately going inactive or "exploiting" team imbalances for personal gain is not in line with the principles of fair play and RULES. Remember that ET is a community-driven game, and it thrives on mutual respect and cooperation among players. Let's work together to create an inclusive and enjoyable environment for everyone. If you encounter any issues during your gaming sessions or have additional suggestions, please feel free to reach out to us through the forums official report or contact us or any other available communication channels. Thank you for being a part of our community, and we look forward to continuing to enhance the gaming experience for everyone. Best regards, Roman Edited July 22, 2023 by rMks 7 4 1 Quote
REER Posted July 22, 2023 Author Posted July 22, 2023 Hey rMKS, Thank you for your polite answer. i know your guidelines for official complaints, and this isn't one. "?" doesn't break any rules, he knows the rules and also how to bypass them. And honestly why should i take the effort to proove something what everyone knows and then read that he's not breaking any rule? The question is how should i handle this situation, do you have any advice? I think i have the following options: Stop playing ET Playing on another server Acting like he does Quote
Inactive Member rMks Posted July 22, 2023 Inactive Member Posted July 22, 2023 REER, Thank you for sharing your concerns with us, and we appreciate your understanding of the guidelines for official complaints. We acknowledge that dealing with situations like these, where players may not technically break rules but engage in questionable behavior, can be challenging. Rest assured, we value your commitment to maintaining a fair and enjoyable gaming environment. While "?" may not be violating any specific rules, it's essential to address the issue and find a constructive resolution. Here are some suggestions on how you could handle this situation: 1. Lead by Example: Continue playing the game as you always have, demonstrating sportsmanship and fair play. By being a positive influence, you can encourage others to follow suit and promote a better gaming experience for everyone. 2. Communication: Engage in respectful and constructive dialogue with "?" and other players. Express your concerns regarding the team balance and how their actions may impact the game's enjoyment for all participants. Sometimes, raising awareness can lead to positive changes. 3. Involve Moderators/Admins: If you notice "?" or any other player consistently disrupting the balance or gameplay, consider reporting the issue to the server moderators or administrators. Provide specific instances of the behavior and let them handle the situation accordingly. 4. Find Allies: Seek out like-minded players who share your commitment to fair play. Playing together with a group of players who prioritize balanced gameplay can enhance your gaming experience and create a more enjoyable atmosphere on the server. 5. Explore Our Other Servers: While we would love to have you as part of our community on your home server, if the issue persists and significantly affects your enjoyment of the game, it might be worth trying out our other servers with different player dynamics and rulesets. (and I don't mean do whatever you want, but the options you stated you have to choose from are also not responsible at all) Remember, we are all here to have fun and share our passion for Wolfenstein. Encouraging a positive atmosphere and fostering good sportsmanship is essential in preserving the spirit of the game. If you have any more questions or require further assistance, please don't hesitate to reach out. Our goal is to make sure all players can have a great time on our servers. Thank you for being a valued member of our community, and we hope you continue to enjoy your time with us. Best regards, Roman PS: we will look into it internally 3 1 2 Quote
qrzy Posted July 22, 2023 Posted July 22, 2023 My message to the players constantly switching to attacking team (including my buddies): If I am in a defending team for whatever reason (usually when only axis have empty slot) and I find particular map less encouraging when defending, I usually choose one of following options: 1. You are not forced to protect the objective. Treat a game bit more like team deathmatch, find your way behind enemy's lines, attack them from behind, set traps, use knife, jump on enemy mg42 player. There are numerous funky situations you will encounter. Even when attacking enemy team far from your objective you are still helping your team if it slows the enemy. 2. Change a server or take a break, maybe next map will be different. Seriously. There are multiple FA and non FA servers out there. 3. If you are fed up with playing in defending team on a specific map over and over and over again, then it may be actually reasonable to prey for an empty slot in attacking team that one time. 4. Ask for shuffle. 2 1 Quote
Masa_1964 Posted July 22, 2023 Posted July 22, 2023 I goes both ways, there is players who only play defending side. Those only play short time attacking side after shuffle or only empty slot is on attacking side. Many are driven only by fragging and minimal work for supporting team effort (usually medic). I know team play is recommend in FA servers but not forced like some other servers. So in that perspective it goes for both sides depending who is playing at the moment, surely there is same names/players who are doing their thing but we need to balance it some how with our example and supporting team play on our servers. 1 1 Quote
Lt Steiner Posted July 22, 2023 Posted July 22, 2023 Without commenting on a specific player, shenanigans as you have described do not go unnoticed by admins. Although they might not result in an immediate action - because it can always be just a coincidence that a player went afk or started spectating the moment he landed on the 'wrong' team (incoming telephone call, door rang or for whatever other reason) -, if over time a clear pattern emerges, the player will be punished sooner or later. 5 Quote

Yes, You have done your part by bringing the question mark to admins attention etc, its now up to them on how its dealt with so let it go. I get your frustration(s) as we all have them in one form or another so best advice i can give to posting is if nothing else learn to walk away and cool down before you do post, anger and subtle jabs certainly won't get you anywhere but in the bad books, type it out and read it a few times before you click that submit button. Above all else remember that online context can very easily be lost in translation. 1 1 1 Quote
Platinum VIP -=HipKat=- Posted July 26, 2023 Platinum VIP Posted July 26, 2023 Do like me and switch sides after every map, if the slot is open. Or wait and join the team, that is short when map starts 1 Quote
PHNTM Posted July 26, 2023 Posted July 26, 2023 I don't see the issue all we need is a player called "!" who enjoys playing for the defending team. 3 Quote
SuperNewNewbie Posted July 27, 2023 Posted July 27, 2023 I guess he don't want to die in entire game😂 Quote
REER Posted July 27, 2023 Author Posted July 27, 2023 (edited) It's interesting that one who names others which don't care about fairness and teamplay, get harder judged then the ones he names. Humans are weird sometimes, but it is like it is. I can adapt my way to play, I did the last days and it works good. The answers were very fair so far , thanks again. I laughed about Phantoms comment, but I don't want to get personal on guys like SuperNewNewbie, so I will unfollow this thread. See you on the server. Edited July 27, 2023 by REER Quote
RetroLeaves Posted July 27, 2023 Posted July 27, 2023 I just join the team that has fewer players, whether it's on offense or defense. I play for the object, because my aim is too weak to be a rambo medic. I don't mind rambo medics, but I do mind players who overuse 'we need an engineer'. Go play engi then. Not hard. 5 Quote
RetroLeaves Posted August 4, 2023 Posted August 4, 2023 I went back to my old posts and saw this one from six years ago: But don't get me started on the 'we need an engineer' vsay. It's mostly used by people who want to achieve the objective but let other people do the work for them. Just look: it's never an engineer that says 'we need an engineer'. Oftentimes, it's the rambo medic that uses it. Guess I haven't matured much 😛 1 Quote
