New Install - Unable To see Server List, thoughts?

Pretty much what the title says, I have 2.60B installed and when I try to see a server list or try to run a connect option in the command window it cannot connect.  ET is allowed through my firewall

 

Thoughts?

Try using console ~ 

/connect 8.9.4.227    or   jay1.clan-fa.com 

 

If you connect then it's the installer you used the one on this site works https://fearless-assassins.com/files/file/774-enemy-territory-full-version/

What DoubleDragon said.......Also make sure you run as Admin and double check its allowed through firewall in and out for both private and public network just to be sure.

Sometimes master list servers are down OR  You might have filters in list? Reset filters.

Turns out it was because of Punkbuster Service was not started (elected not to install it)

punkbuster no longer has control over master list and you shouldn't need it any more it is not supporting ET any more

 

if you experience this in the future when you open server list

 

This is for WolfET 2.55-2.60

 

open console and type

 

/globalservers 1 etmaster.idsoftware.com;vid_restart

 

this sets the serverlist to the working known path and restarts the vm_ services

 

and when it starts up open console and you should read

 

----- finished R_Init -----
Resolving etmaster.idsoftware.com
etmaster.idsoftware.com resolved to 192.246.40.60:27951

 

This is for ETLegacy

 

/globalservers 2 master.etlegacy.com;vid_restart

 

to check and make sure it is set correct type

 

/sv_master

 

and hit enter and it should list masterlist 1-4 on WET and 1and 2 on ETL

 

if you really have issues and can not get the list to show up I suggest using the patch on this site

 

http://etmaster.net/

 

and/or open host file on your system with a administrative notepad

 

C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts

 

and put this as a redirect same as master list hacking
