Eireannanl Posted July 12, 2019 Posted July 12, 2019 I'm getting some weird lagspikes when I play (no matter on which server). I get lagspikes every 30s-few minutes. I wonder if there's some connection problems.. Here's MTP result I don't remember if I had any lagspike issues when I played years ago on other clan's servers. Ever since I tried again (Both ET and ETL), I've got these weird lagspikes. Quote
Administrators daredevil Posted July 12, 2019 Administrators Posted July 12, 2019 500 packets will not help in this case. Our Euro datacenter just want to be jerk to their customers cos some customers raise issues over 10 packets so I don't blame them either. Hence they ask for 1000 packets. To find issue, run for 100 packets. In conjunction of winMTR use https://www.pingplotter.com/ It will tell you on which hop your latency spikes. To me - first hop - your worst is 28, then 2nd hop 95. All those worst on initial hops gets carried forward. Can you also share lagometer screenshots? At least 3 to 10 lagometer screenshots will help. 1 Quote
Eireannanl Posted July 12, 2019 Author Posted July 12, 2019 Just at random times or with some specific interval? I could pick lagometer right after lagspike with shadowplay as well. Quote
Administrators daredevil Posted July 12, 2019 Administrators Posted July 12, 2019 Just now, Eireannanl said: Just at random times or with some specific interval? I could pick lagometer right after lagspike with shadowplay as well. whenever u see issue, take screenshot with F11 so it will be captured in lagometer. I believe you should one small spike in lagometer when SS gets written on HD cos of IO spike if you are not on SSD. But that's ok. That's why 3 to 5 screenshots. Quote
Eireannanl Posted July 13, 2019 Author Posted July 13, 2019 (edited) Here's lagometer screenshots after lagspikes (4 in 10 minutes) and both 100 packets and 10minutes interval (MTP and PingPlotter). Lagometers Spoiler MTP Spoiler PingPlotter Spoiler Edited July 13, 2019 by Eireannanl Quote
Barn!e Posted July 14, 2019 Posted July 14, 2019 Ask ISP for line check. have you ever used DNSBench to see if manually changing DNS helps? I would also recommend a spyware sweep and TCP optimser just to cover all the bases. Quote
Eireannanl Posted July 14, 2019 Author Posted July 14, 2019 Looks like that I get lag spikes from some sort of objectives 😮 For example, in those pictures, everytime I get lagspike, command post is either destroyed or constructed. Noticed today that it happened too when others destroyed tank or truck, lag spike. Dyno destroyed some objective, lag spike. 1 Quote
Eireannanl Posted July 14, 2019 Author Posted July 14, 2019 In "Password" -map. I got lag spike when that hand pierced that thing so you can get endoarm and also when I got "2 minutes remaining, soldier" announcement. O.O Quote
Barn!e Posted July 15, 2019 Posted July 15, 2019 sound lag then maybe whats your com_soundmegs set to? 1 Quote
Solution Eireannanl Posted July 15, 2019 Author Solution Posted July 15, 2019 It was that default one, I don't remember what it was. Way less than 160 anyway. I use now 256 and haven't noticed any lagspike yet. Hopefully that fixed the problem Quote
Barn!e Posted July 15, 2019 Posted July 15, 2019 DD posted some mem settings somewhere and I think they might be capped. 256 is overkill but if its fixed...meh Quote
Eireannanl Posted July 15, 2019 Author Posted July 15, 2019 It's not like ram runs out So I don't really mind if it's overkill Happened to google it and found when I noticed that objectives gave that lagspikes. 3 Quote
Administrators daredevil Posted July 16, 2019 Administrators Posted July 16, 2019 192 should be enough in majority of cases 1 Quote
