Hey guys! So I am actually having some trouble installing Wolfenstein ET for the first time! The game was downloaded fine except for one thing: It did not install a default.cfg file. I tried looking in my files and sure enough, there wasn't.I had installed using the default 2.60b installer and I do not know if I need to either use something else or have someone send me a default.cfg? If someone could help me out with this that would just be awesome!

I looked into my files and I have that.

 

The exact message is:

 

ET 2.60b win-x86 May  8 2006

Couldn't load default.cfg - I am missing essential files - verify your installation?

few questions:

 

What OS do you use?

Do you run ET as administrator?

In your etmain folder do you have the pak0.pk3 file?

 

Also I find it weird it searches here C:\Program Files (x86)\Wolfenstein - Enemy Territory\minimizer/etmain it should be looking in here C:\Program Files (x86)\Wolfenstein - Enemy Territory\etmain  

 

Did you use the default install path? C:\Program Files (x86)\

 

If you don't have the pak0.pk3 heres a download link from my webserver ----> download me!

 

 

Maybe uninstall and re-install would be your best bet.

looked through my install couldnt find a cfg file named default.cfg. However here is the default cfg file

pretty sure default.cfg is in one of the pk3s, but it looks like youre not loading any pk3s
