sooo…won't my servers refresh?

Ok I've got my flame suit on, can someone point me to the solution? One catch, I've had cod4 installed dance the game first came out, and I have no clue where my disk or key code would be…. :help

 

Thankfully, My F|A servers are saved in my Favourites, and they still work...

I can't help you.  Mine does the same thing.  Servers don't show no matter how many times I refresh.  All I can do is go to Game Tracker and get an actual IP to put it in manually.  As for seeing servers in a lobby It doesn't work for me.

Oh, I know it's not. I've just been watching the packets using Wireshark.

 

Technical details, thus far;

 

Game is sending out a query to cod4master.activision.com (64.111.167.143), with the server using port 20810.

 

The "Give me server list nao, pl0x" packet is formatted, kinda like this:

Server replies with nothing, I need a description. I haven't gone to Google yet, but that's my next port of call.

 

The heartbeat packet (From your dedi server to the master server) is structured like this:

If they don't get their shit together, I'll take a shot at creating our own master server.

 

EDIT: I've started looking at this from a "How to serve Game Clients" and then I'll take a look at the server side next.

 

When you connect to a server your client fires off two packets. One to the Master Server, and one to the Game Server you're connecting to;

Your connection to the game server only continues when you get that response from the server.

Redacted information is as follows:

<redacted1> == CD Key (I think)

<redacted2> == Full PB GUID.

<redacted3> == It seems to be a random 10 digit number, but honestly I don't have a clue.

Everyone is going to have the same issue. It's the Master Server that's down. The Master Server being the one that serves everyone.

 

 

 

 

 

 

(I know there's a joke to be made with Master Server and "serving everyone", but I'll be damned if I'm going to try that hard to make it work)

Guess we will just have to add the server ip to our favourites now... Can't see activision running the master server for COD4 in the future... Thank god for game tracker

i usualy get this like ones a week but all I do is just load a Default Config. for cod, than read my active one


To save your current cfg. open console /writeconfig "NAMEHERE"

go to setings reset default save and close

 

start up game check if all ur settings are not there if not your ready to read your config with /exec "NAMEHERE"
that fixes my problems with the master servers.
