  1. As many of you know the World War I started in Austro-Hungarian empire. The capital of now Bosnia and Herzegovina. The beautifull city of Sarajevo. I had some activity's today in city , so I walked thru the coffee shop named "Tito". Tito was known as a Yugoslav communist revolutionary and politician who served in various positions of national leadership from 1943 until his death in 1980. During World War II, he was the leader of the Yugoslav Partisans, often regarded as the most effective resistance movement in German-occupied Europe. Coffee shop was very very old btw outside were few significant vehicles that I need to share with you as I will post it here. Willys Jeep U.S 4x4 humvee M3/M5 Stuart Light Tank U.S M37 Skoda 7.5cm canon Anti-Aircraft Gun There will be two more pic's down bellow. Thanks for reading. With love , Chuu Here down bellow you have a Graf and Stift double phaeton car in which Franz-Ferdinand was killed from Gavrilo Princip Link of image. https://ibb.co/L9BSy8s And also this is armoured train from WW2 used by German and Yugoslav's army . 3. Auctioneers expect the fully restored fighter, once flown by Great Escape veteran Peter Cazenove, to create a real buzz when it goes under the hammer World War II Spitfire pilot Ken Wilkinson poses for a photograph next to a restored Vickers Supermarine Spitfire Mk.1A at Imperial War Museum Duxford A rare RAF Spitfire which was shot down during World War Two and forgotten about for 40 years is expected to sell for £2.5 million in a landmark sale. The MK1 Vickers Supermarine Spitfire was flown by Great Escape veteran Peter Cazenove in an air battle over Dunkirk. Just 55 minutes into a flight, on May 24, 1940, Cazenove's Spitfire was hit by a single bullet fired from a Dornier 17-Z bomber. The Old Etonian radioed in to say "tell mother I'll be home for tea", before belly-landing onto the sands of Calais beach. German officers sitting on the the downed Spitfire in 1940 (BNPS) Uninjured, Cazanove walked into Calais where he joined up a with a British regiment. However, he was later captured by German forces and held as a Prisoner of War. The Spitfire, known as P9374, was left to nature and was consumed by successive tides, sinking deeper into the sands where it remained for the next 40 years. In September 1980 the Spitfire was discovered after strong tides pushed it back above the surface. Although it was barnacled and corroded, the aircraft was largely intact but salvagers and trophy hunters caused serious damage as they tried to get a piece of the plane. The aircraft later underwent a full restoration and is now one of only two Mk1 Spitfires which are restored to original specification and still flying. RAF Museum handed over Spitfire in 'ill-conceived' deal for WWII aircraft it may never receive Both are owned by Thomas Kaplan, an American philanthropist and art collector, who is now selling P9374. The Spitfire, which flies "beautifully", is expected to sell for around £2.5 million at Christie's 'Exceptional Sale', which will be held in London on July 19. Mr Kaplan will be donating the proceeds from the landmark sale to the RAF Benevolent Fund and Panthera, a leading wildlife conservation charity. He has donated his other Spitfire - N3200 - to the Imperial War Museum in Duxford. The kindhearted businessman said: "When my great childhood friend, Simon Marsh, and I embarked upon this project, it was to pay homage to those who Churchill called "the Few", the pilots who were all that stood between Hitler's darkness and what was left of civilisation. "The upcoming events of July 9th are, more than anything else, concrete gestures of gratitude and remembrance for those who prevailed in one of the most pivotal battles in modern history. "As history tells us all, there comes a time when one simply has to step up...to act with passion, and to remember with gratitude the few that actually do." The MK1 Vickers Supermarine Spitfire (BNPS) The Spitfire was originally built at the Vickers Armstrong factory in Woolston and delivered to 92 Squadron at RAF Croydon in March 1940. It was powered by a Merlin III engine which was built at Rolls-Royce, Derby, on 27 October 1939. After it was recovered, the Spitfire first to the Musee d'l'Air at Le Bourget, Paris, and subsequently to further collections until the parts eventually ended up with the Aircraft Restoration Company / Historic Flying Ltd. at Duxford. Spitfire crash landed after pilot 'pulled wrong lever' A team of 12 engineers spent three years meticulously restoring the Spitfire for Mr Kaplan and Mr Marsh. The completed aircraft successfully returned to flight for the first time since the Second World War in September 2011, and was flown by John Romain, Pilot and Chief Engineer at the Aircraft Restoration Company. He later said: "This is a fantastic restoration to be justifiably proud of. Spitfire P9374 is a truly lovely aircraft, and she flies beautifully." Robert Copley, deputy chairman Christie's UK, added: "Christie's is proud to be entrusted with the sale of this Spitfire - a truly iconic aircraft which is symbol of the bravery 'of the few' in the Battle of Britain. "We look forward to seeing this extraordinary Mk.1 Spitfire reach new heights at 'The Exceptional Sale', which will be a unique moment in auction house history." Source: The telegraph UK

    Red Tails

A Review of Red Tails The movie was overall pretty cool, the plane action was nice and the sounds were right, if you have ever been next to a P-51 as it's starting up you know the deep engine and vibrations it makes. But aside from that, the movie was just pure propaganda, mixed in with sub par acting. There must be like 3 actors in the entire movie anybody has ever seen, and one of them I cant name a movie he's from. The Tuskegee airmen go on to destroy airfields with no problem from AA guns and take down ships whenever they feel like it. The German pilots(and AA gunners) seem to be retarted or something because they utterly fail to take down these under trained, under armed and under supplied Tuskegee airmen. Another part that was junk was the dogfight with the Me-262s. Even green pilots in the 262s were beating Allied aces in their conventional aircraft, yet some Tuskegee airmen just pluck them out of the sky with only one casualty of the crazy pilot "Lightning" who goes fourth to fly straight at a guy and gets 40 50. bullets to the chest before he dies. All in all I want to uphold the "Inspired by true events" so basically nothing in this movie could have been true, it just was based of the idea of black WW2 pilots.

    My Way

CJ Entertainment Japan and Toei have released the first trailer for upcoming $28 million World War II epic, “My Way“, starring Japanese actor Odagiri Joe and South Korean actor Jang Dong Gun. The film was directed by South Korean director Kang Je Gyu (“Shiri”, “Taegukgi – Brotherhood”), who was inspired by an old photograph of an Asian person wearing a German uniform during the war and backtracked the person’s 12,000 km long trek to Europe. However, more than a story of war, “My Way” lays its focus on the deep bond between two men. During their childhood, they started as rivals with the dream of winning the marathon at the Olympics. With the outbreak of World War II, they were both forced to enter the military. Hasegawa Tatsuo (Odagiri Joe) comes from a militaristic family and was proud to serve his country, but Kim Jun Shik (Jang Dong Gun), who is a servant of the Hasegawa family, actually didn’t want to go to war. During their harsh and long journey from Asia, through Siberia, to Normandy, they end up not only wearing the Japanese uniform, but also the uniforms of the Soviet Union and Germany. The climax of the film happens towards the end at the Battle of Normandy. It took the production team more than three months to prepare the large-scale set. Moreover, 2,300 extras and state-of-the-art filming equipment were used to capture the intensity of the battlefield. “My Way” is going to open in Japan on January 14th. http://youtu.be/eNmZmjH_ouU
