*Sypher*
Lol, I didn't know where to put it, but the point is, I actually don't know what 'Ventrillo' is and I would like to know some more about it. I understood I need a headset for it, cause it's real voice etc, but I don't have one anymore (lol, it broke ), but I'm thinking about buying a new one to use Ventrillo. But before doing that, can you guys give me some more info about Ventrillo and say who of you use it, cause I'm not going to buy an expensive thing to speak to one or two people. If you know the room number (which is the IP server ) and the password (if required) you can enter these rooms (nee server) and talk to other people who may be in these servers. so basically when you join the FA vent channel, you can talk to other people who are also in the FA vent channel at the same time as you. Its free and is quite popular. Quite a few people use it - e.g. Baska, Fem, Fred etc . Very handy if you need an admin stat or just want to make friends. How populated it is tends to swing depending on when you go on it - i think its mroe popular when its early evening in USA. You dont need a headset - a cheap microphone from the thrift shop will do fine - but a headset is good for privacy here are some links related to it FA official vent server thread - for details of where server is located Wiki page Tutoril by dan to help set vent up Normalizing voices helpguid by Timo edit: i find i type slower than alex haha
*Sypher*
Ok, thanks. I already understood the basic part of it, but thanks for answering how populated it is and for the links. Soon I'll look for a microphone and download vent. And loose loudspeakers don't matter for privacy, I got a cable with little loudspeakers in my ear. (Don't know how you guys call it, click to see pic)

(Don't know how you guys call it, click to see pic) At least everyone I know calls those either headphones or earbuds. One thing I suggest not doing is having a microphone sitting on your desk next to loudspeakers. Every time someone trys to chat with you, they will hear themselves and any other sounds on your desk (typing, mouse clicks, people talking in background, the game sounds). It's very distracting and occasionally annoying. One of the things about programs like ventrilo/teamspeak/mumble etc you will find are alot of different groups use them. So say if there are not alot of people on one ventrilo server, you can go onto another one and chat with someone there. You can even use xfire to voice chat with people, although I wouldn't suggest doing so in game. Ventrilo seems to work better once it's set up. i wish i could get vent to work lol also you can download vent Here Just pick your download and install then your good to go.^^ PM me ddog, maybe we can knock heads and get it figured out if it's a computer/software problem.
