Civ III is not my favorite in the series, but it's quite refined and it's got decent graphics. I think it includes some features that have been long removed as well such as Global Warming, the UN, and also a nuclear winter effect (if you don't clean up the contamination in x amount of turns, the tiles turn to desert... roman legions for the win? :D)

 

Annnd... it looks like Multiplayer is back up and running thanks to Steam. So get this shiz if you don't own civ so we all can play just one more turn together.  :ph34r:
