thats me doing an obj lol, i think anique produced me that run a in a nice video showing more accurate how fast it was, (there is something called speedometer lol)

i ll put the youtube video as soon as i find it, meanwhile watch it like that .

anyways the video proves nothing imo(cuz it isnt in tj mod as the guy asked me, so u cannot see exactly what i pressed. , but well u can see the crouching in the air in the big straight b4 reachiong the obj thingy, thats all i do anyways, i jump and crouch and strafe. and rlly i am pretty fast in etpro( thats why i asked you for a race :D )

here is karnaj:

http://www.gamestv.org/event/19657-impact-gaming-vs-idle-ee/

thats not me, but request a replay and spec karnaj, put his demo in tjmod if u like and see how he crouches,

he is imo the fastest player in ET , with sqzz ( i said imo.)

anyways since i specced karnaj i realized this. hope it helps. and anyways if some1 wants i am still in xfire hahaha to show u live ! :DLol

xfire : felipem87

edit: btw hey Hell :D

I wouldnt say karnaj is one of the fastest players at all, but then again, ts ur opinion. I would say sqzz and Waki are probably fastest, with Meez not too far behind.

i agree with u that sqzz might be faster , but if u spec karnaj in most matches he plays, and put speedometer on, u will see that he is probably one of the fastest , and i forgot to mention RELOAD, he is like...just awesome fast.

RELOAd is pretty fast. i think i still have that avi of him when he ran from the truck(on radar) to one of the parts in like 3 seconds lol

edit: mystic used to be pretty fast back in his day. maybe not speed-fast but he knew his jumps and whatnot especially on radar

I honestly thought that you were trying to have some fun over some nubs that would desperately try to crouch in the air. This is why I felt it important to post some real information about trickjumping. However, I realise now that you are actually doing strafing and only additionally crouching in the air. It doesn't remove the fact that to do good bunnyhopping, people need to learn how to strafe. Whatever makes them feel good or jump better in terms of habbits, is their own business in my opinion.

@generally

I still prefer to take the word from the tjmod developers and the world's best ET trickjumpers over anyone who says crouching will increase your speed.

Trickjumping is not easy. The trickjumping nolifes :) that make it look easy have practised it for years. There are many things that effect do you get bigger or smaller speed boosts in jumps. One is the snap angle that I told about in one of my previous posts. Crouching in air will make you go slower and because of that, in the next snap you don't need to increase the snap angle as much as you would otherwise. Maybe this explains the speedboost Antimony witnessed.

Here is the fullbeat tutorial in the trickjump forum at http://www.trickjump.me/tutorials/fullbeat.php.

The video is recorded with 2.60b+etpro after the initial part where the keypresses are explained. The video also shows very clearly the importance of the correct mouse angles. In the tutorial they use the term switch angles, this means the same as the term snap that has been used in this thread. Notice that to gain speed you need to keep moving your mouse slowly after the switch, or otherwise the speed will remain static.

Notice also, that you can very well do switching in midair. Crouching doesn't help in that one either.

This is also my final post to this thread. There is nothing more I can say about this. I suck at trickjumping although I also think it's fun to do, and therefore I posted links to the tutorials approved by the tj community or quoted word by word texts that were written there by people that are good at it. To fully appreciate the lengths of the jumps in the videos you should try to jump those yourself, if you haven't already. It's hard to see the lengths from the video because the speed of the player is so high.

i just have to say to u that i suck at trickjumping too.

but this isnt a topic about trickjumping, original question is how to go faster:

crouching in mid air does increase ur speed, u can go read all the no lifers blogs etc, and believe them ,. thats ur choice,

or u can just take 10 minutes with me (xfire felipem87) , stop ur ego, and see for ur self that i aint lieing.

ofc i am a random and u should believe more the ppl who know more about these stuff,

but thats why i also posted karnaj link (which i bet u didnt even watch the demo) and see for ur self from a non-random player like me.

cya!

PD: crouching in mid -air does increase ur speed. is proved.

Im tried that map and i never got past the very last one

I have added a box at my screen so I can see how fast I run in Wolfenstein.

Mostly this is between 20 - 30 k/m.

Is this good or not?
