I get a strong lag spike once in while, sometime 1,2,3 times a day.

Like I go zombie for 4 seconds, then i'm ok for some maps.

someone has a idea what it could be ..

thanks

Yes I've noticed it too but it's really just a few seconds once in a while and I can live with it :) I agree with Raskin that it's probably a general issue happening to most servers and websites. It's like a toothache or a cold, it just happens sometimes.

I'm happy to help anybody in this topic who has lag spikes.
FrostedFlake, is this issue happening on our Silent 1 server? And Alpha, is this issue you're experiencing on Beginners #2?
Do either of you know whether this happens on another server, such as one of our Euro servers?

Occasional lag spikes can be a bit tricky, as they can be a multitude of different things.
What you're explaining FrostedFlake sounds like it might not be a problem with your internet, but CPU or HDD activity.

Regardless, the first step to take is always going to be a MTR test and to provide screenshots of your lagometer when you see these spikes.
Daredevil has written a post outlining the information we need from you, and how to get this: http://fearless-assassins.com/forum-11/announcement-9-how-to-recognize-your-lag/

Let us know if you have any questions about how to use WinMTR or anything else!

I think we all get it, occasionally. It happens on Jay 1 about 1 time per map and afterward you get a lot of  people will write in chat "lag" or hear a few vsays acknowledging it. It's like a 1 or 2 seconds of Connection interrupted, then goes back to normal

Yes it happens on silent 1, and hardcore too, thank you i will try this and post a screenshot of my lagometer, cause i didn't had that before, i got those spikes since i got my new computer. could be a cpu or hdd activity.

I get mine alone, out of nowhere, when nobody has a lag spike, and i get kill easy in that 4 seconds spike.

I only play on Beg#2 and I rarely notice lags, just once in while (once or twice each day at the most).

The lags I get are definitely not CPU-related. I have a quite modern gaming rig (quad-core 6600) with a 970 Geforce. When I see these lags, I can see the pings of everyone spiking for a few seconds and then everything gets back to normal. It is network-related and usually when the server is crowded in the evening. I have an FTTH connection, super fast, super stable and a flat low ping (around 30, max 40).
