Help with mic and headphone front jack

Hello! I just got a new headset called the sades arcmage 3.5mm headset. But, the problem is, is that for some reason, the front jacks on my computer dont work. They work if I have my apple headphones in and I'm starting to get really confused. If anyone could help me with this frustration problem, that would be great!

What exactly do you mean by "the jacks don't work"? Does the microphone pick up noise?

Here are the two problems I've encountered with headphone jacks:

  • There is output on both the speakers and the headset.
  • There is no output at all.

I don't suppose your Apple earphones have a fourth pin that looks like the plug on the left:

Don't be sorry mate. I'm glad to hear that you got the problem fixed. :)

If I may ask, what fixed your problem? A toothpick? :D
