Popular Post Xernicus Posted September 3, 2015 Popular Post Posted September 3, 2015 I don't know how many of you remember, but last month I went on my yearly camping trip. Last year I ended up with around 250 photos. This year, that doubled to over 500. So I sat around for a month, going through the woe-is-me stage of dealing with the digital darkroom... and now I'm finally getting around to processing the photos that I took. This is the last photo shoot where my Canon Powershot G12 along with a filter/lens adapter barrel is the main star of the show. As I go through the 6 gigs of photos, I'll post them in batches of 5 to 10 at a time. If at least 10% of the photos are good, that's 50... so we're off to an alright start. But that's enough blabber. Here's the photos; I hope you enjoy them. These are processed and uploaded in the order that they were taken. (AKA: no order at all )All of these have been resized to 1024x768 at 92ppi to help with bandwidth, and have an embedded sRGB color profile to help with accurate reproduction for all.Modicum Morning:Fungusamongus (Fungus Among Us):Lost in a sea of moss:Split Level:Hanging by a thread:Free Flow: 10 Quote

Xernicus Posted September 4, 2015 Author Posted September 4, 2015 last one looks like a picture of art. very nice! /JoNny I'm glad you like it! It's a 1 second exposure (with the help of a 2 stop ND filter) of the Hoh River. When I uploaded it, I put it in the category of "waterscapes", I suppose I could consider putting it in "Fine Art" next time. I guess you made some adjustments in color etc? Very beautiful pics! Very few adjustments. I shoot in RAW, so I set the white balance when I am processing the photo, adjust shadows and highlights to recover "blown out" pixels and whatnot... I have a few tricks up my workflow sleeve for making the colors more vibrant, but it's all in adjusting the exposure, contrast, tone curve and levels. The blue water you see however, is really that blue. It is glacier fed, and absolutely stunning to see IRL. Thank you all for your support, and I'm hoping to get some more photos processed and uploaded shortly! 2 Quote
