Will watch game for sure Wild have game too in sunday, so in Monday after work i have two game to watch I so so wish that Bäckström play well and would continue career in NHL for couple more seasons. Waited this news everyday from Trade Deadline and now it will finally come! Its so great how hockey can make you happy! Btw i have to say that i like CGY commentators more, i hate Wild commentators, they never ever say anything critical on anyone. With CGY games/commentators, you get more honest opinions, ofc they also praise they own talents, but if they goalie game suck, commentators say it, if CGY defence suck or some player havent play well enough they have balls to say it and ask from players who you will fix these problems etc.. Sometimes when i hear how Wild commentators praise our poor defence or goalie game in games when those play badly, make me sick, first it was funny how they was like watching some disney channel, but now after i watched some CGY games, i just cant stand our commentators who are blind on things what not work. But overall Wild has played well lately, ofc last lost was ugly one, but all play ugly games time to time, and when goalie and defence play not work can scores be ugly, but scores didnt show whole true from last game. Ottawas lost was hard to take, it take me two whole day to get over that, after Bäckström news i finally was able to forget that lost. Main reason of our 4 lost from 6 last game has been our poor goalie game. I have to say that i dont like all what Torchetti has done, example i cant understand why one of NHL best two-way players Mikko Koivu dont play any penalty kill time? Our PK has been something like 70% after Torchetti came to team. I havent understand either why he let Coyle keep puck so much, Coyle could be great powerforward if he would use his streghts and not hold puck too much, after Coyle was moved to same line as Parise, Parise has made only 2 goal in 20 game. Third is that why he give so much ice-team to Schroeder who have only 1 point from 18 game and he has played with Koivu, Granlund and Vanek, and in coming game he will play with Parise also. Fourth is that look like Vanek will sit today game, i started like Vanek a lot (lol would never guess that when he came to Wild, was against his signation), yes Vanek have only 3 assist from last 10 game, but he has created more scoring opportunitys in third line than Parise in first line. But overall i like Torchetti and a lot, and he is my second choise to our coach, only Hitchkock is front of him. (i mean only those who i think is available). If i would start to make list of what i like on Torchetti it would be really long, but as examples, he share ice team more equally to all four line(and to defenders also), he got our PP working, he is ready to pull Dubnyk out of goal when needed, he is ready to put Kuemper in goal if Dubnyk has played badly, he talk all the time behind bench and is players type coach and not favor any players like Yeo did. 1 Quote

von Rantala Posted March 19, 2016 Author Posted March 19, 2016 Wild Game Scores in spoiler Wow what a game, i have so hot now, (jumped and screamed so much that my throath is sore) its always little bit extra to watch game live, so i really hope win when i can watch those rare live games, and we was in must win situation. Lately we has been unlucky with bounches, but now we was able to win it, still that daam overtime is killing me, my heart rate is at least 200, our overtime game is super poor in offesive way, but this time we played great defence, because we have lost so many overtimes, we play super carefully and without any confidence in overtimes, so i knew that only way to win it was in shootout (after game was tied in third period). Koivu played great game and was big reason why we win it, he was tired, but skated from offensive zone to defence zone and take enought time from Carolina player so he had to make move which Dubnyk saved and we got shootout win. I like Zucker, Koivu tandem more than Parise, Koivu. I like Zucker speed. Parise have hard time now and i was happy to see him making that shootout goal. Wasnt happy to see that Vanek was scratched, but Jones played huge game and was my second star of game. Vanek could fit in Parise, Granlund line. Let see. Before OT was starting, i was thinking myself, whether Tourchetti have enough balls to start with Koivu and Zucker when they has been best tandem of game and he has several time sayed that those play a lot who earned. He put Koivu and Coyle in start. If i remembering correctly it was first time when Torch started overtime with Koivu, before he used, Parise and Granlund or Coyle, Parise. Koivu played great game and Torch keeped his world and put Koivu there before Parise. Thanks boys! Tomorrow i will watch F1 race and then will go to my sister birthday party! In monday two game coming, already waiting those, and wondering how i can sleep next two nigt when i am already waiting games so much. Quote

Will be fun to put out our predicitons Last sprint for the season, I think the eastern conference will finish the way it is right now, the flyers won't make the playoffs. It tighter in the western conference, it will all depend on next week's game min vs col. Hope to see that you doing Playoff pool to us again. I can already say that i will use my half season prediction as my bone when i make my prediction for playoff pool, if i remember correcly, Ducks has taken CGY spot in west and not sure about east when i dont follow that so closely, but if i remember correctly i put FLA in playoff and they are going in there, and that has been surprise for many, but not for me, have to re-check my predections before making anything official, but Wild will be my Stanley winner (ofc) Just got watched last night CGY and Wild games (its 23:00 here now), so happy for Bäckström to win his deput in new team, he will play against Wild in Thursday if i did understand correctly https://www.nhl.com/flames/video/post-game-niklas-backstrom/t-277437092/c-42758003. Watched CGY game first, and daam it was so nice to see how well Nikke played, shutout was not far away, i knew last year that we had to take new goalie, and i know Dubnyk is our starter in this year, but was super disappoinent that we didnt use Bäckström as back up, hah, could even be possible that Bäckström win us in our last game of regular season and that way dropp Wild out of playoffs, but i think in that kind situation Hartley dont use Bäckström, Hartley is good coach who read game well. I tap my hat to him that he gave chance to Bäckström. Beautiful win from us too in Hawks game, Dubnyk has been big for those two wins. Still keeping hopes up to see Bäckström in NHL for couple coming season, he can be good back up goalie for CGY. Its also strange situation if CGY will re-sign Rämö too, then two of my favorite goalies would be in same team, so i would probably watch all the CGY games too, but if both play in different teams, then i have three team to watch like i had couple year ago, when i followed, Wild and Saku Koivu in Montreal and in Ducks, and Niittymäki in Flyears and Tampa and SJ. Bäckström win has been my favorite moment of this season, and second is our outdoor game win 1 Quote
von Rantala Posted March 21, 2016 Author Posted March 21, 2016 BTW i am in hard situation, i have to let someone go before next year from my Fantasy team, if you ask me now, i probably let Parise go and that way i would be able to keep rest of my roster. Bennett will be player what i will add in next year roster for sure. Next year salary cap will rase for 4 milj if i remember correctly and that give me enough room for Määttä contract, then i have to re-sign, Dumba, Vatanen and Zucker also. I am planning to take Rämö and Bäckström as my goalies so Dubnyk give me 4+ milj to room too, but i would go over salary cap probably for 3 milj what will be moved to 2017-2018 salary cap as penalty. Now i will move Bäckström back to my roster. Only rest of his contract will affect to my salary cap, so i stay in salary cap. Quote

Thanks it was hard core defence play and Dubnyk won game for us, Dubnyk has been awsome in past three game and has been (my) clear number one star in 3 past games. Now we are in last wild card spot and if playoffs would start today it would mean that Dallas would play against us, in past two season we have won central division winner, in 2015 we won Colorado and in last year St. Louis, i really think we can do it again, Dallas is good team, but is more regular season team than playoff team, little bit like San Jose and Vancouver was in they strong era. Dallas have great scoring group, but team like Wild can defence it and then Dallas can be in problems, they defence group and goalies havent been elite. Quote
von Rantala Posted March 28, 2016 Author Posted March 28, 2016 Wow what games against Calgary and Colorado, it made little bit hard to watch how Calgary leaved Bäckström alone against Wild in the game, but wow Koivu 0+3 and Parise 3+1. That was huge game and then i started watch Colorado game, first period was hard to watch, but then we started play our game, we has been great after Torchetti came behind bench and in whole season with him we would be top of NHL with his Record what team has posted after he has came behind bench (13-6-1). I started to love him a lot, he could be my new favorite coach, and join club of Laviolette and Rick Tocchet (TBL head coach in 2009-2010) and Lauri Marjamäki (from Finland). We are in 5 game winning streak and after Torch we has won Chicago twice, and LAK too. If we continue play like we play now, we will win Cup for sure. Just checked NHL site again, Parise is first star of week. Wild has already made they team record to post three player in week of player list (i think so, not fact), Players has been Koivu, Haula, Parise. Let see if Koivu will be finalist for Selke! Quote
