AcidParadox Posted December 2, 2014 Posted December 2, 2014 I want to give a friend a computer for christmas and I was looking for cheap prebuild computers, I can't go to the option with building it myself because i am too busy right now.So is this computer worth the price?http://www.cyberpowerpc.com/system/AMD_Pre-Build_ET_640or thishttp://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00D1KX2M4/reviews-regulararticlelinks-20 Or do you guys have another good site to suggest?budget is 500-600 bucks Quote
Monoxide Posted December 2, 2014 Posted December 2, 2014 In my opinion I would go with the cyberpower. It has a dedicated gpu over the integrated graphics of the A-series processors. I was looking to build a similar system awhile back and the price for it assembled with an os seems pretty fair to what I was seeing to build it. 1 Quote
Daliger Posted December 2, 2014 Posted December 2, 2014 (edited) Cyberpower is a risky site.. I thought of getting a PC from them once, until I read the reviews. A lot of buyers have problems with their system within the first year of purchase.. I'd stay clear from them if possible. I'd recommend the site ibuypower.com.. This is where I got the PC that I'm typing on right now. They have good prices (Not as good as building your own, of course, but hey not everyone can do that), and it's been a year with no issues. Check them out, they typically have good deals, lots of specials. Edited December 2, 2014 by Daliger 2 Quote
Vanaraud Posted December 6, 2014 Posted December 6, 2014 For 500-600$ one could get i3\G3258 and at least r9 260x\GTX 750 GPU. To me those PCs mentioned above seem like waste of money. 1 Quote

What about this one? I think I'll probably buy this computer for myself since somebody is gonna give him a computer too lol Quote

Buckwild Posted December 6, 2014 Posted December 6, 2014 The cyberpowerpc is really nice! for the Money. Although the videocard is low-end($55), It's not bad. I wouldn't buy the CybertronPC Patriot. Quote
Vanaraud Posted December 12, 2014 Posted December 12, 2014 A little busy lately but here´s what I would be aiming for, a decent gaming PC with SSD: Edit: didn´t capture the build price, was 550$ something. http://www.ibuypower.com/Store/ASUS-M51AD for this price you could even add an r9 290 to my build for Ultra presets(CPU might bottleneck a bit at Ultra on FHD though). Isn´t there local dealers? Or can´t you buy for 25$ a service to put parts together? Those prices are way too overpriced...Ok they have 100$ Win8.1, which I didn´t include but still what a crappy GPU-s. I would even go with this one, instead of r7 240 or r5 230: and add an decent GPU( r9 270 or higher, at least r7 260x) later.. Kaveri has r7 integrated basically. Only weak point: PSU, ~10$ extra would push to safe zone. Also adding 100$ to compare with\without OS would be easy, so I left it out. Built it for gaming. For job related would go with 4-cores Intel i5. Edit2: didn´t double check for final buying decision. 1 Quote

AcidParadox Posted December 13, 2014 Author Posted December 13, 2014 So this is the computer I bought, you guys convinced me to build my own. I will need your advice for building it because I have never done this before.I used https://pcpartpicker.com/ to check compability for these parts. Thanks a lot family! Quote
Vanaraud Posted December 15, 2014 Posted December 15, 2014 I used Newegg as I´m not from USA and not aware of other shops. Though it should give a general idea throughout the world whats possible to get in price range. Your build looks good also but I´d cut down from mobo and case and put more in GPU: r9 280\285 would be nice. In gaming graphics card is most important, for instance even on Ultra settings my old IB i5 3570 runs 80-90% usage but r9 290 GPU is under full load the whole time. In gaming i3 and FX 8350 are at same level, but AMD CPU-s consume more energy, so you´d have to use aftermarket CPU cooler or deal with more noise. Let´s set new budget to 700$ as I see on your build, got 680$ in newegg with rebates: EDIT: Anyone heard about Raidmax PSUs? I´ve not, better take some good Seasonic or Corsair CX\RM are fine too. Personally I´ve got good experience with Chieftec also. Also I´m afraid that this case is too expensive for what it is and has not enough room to fit graphics card, and cheap interior finishing, no USB 3.0 on front panel. What I´m looking for these days from case is: USB 3.0 on front panel, clearence for CPU cooler(about 160mm is enough) and support for long GPUs- even 270x is almost 300m long, so case should fit about 315\320mm GPUs. 1 Quote
