Leader RedBaird Posted September 3, 2014 Leader Posted September 3, 2014 The painting on the other side of the room where every1 has its back turned to is 100000x more beautifull then the monalise. i'm starting to hate the hyped fake beautifull things. PEOPLE CHOOSE FOR YOUR SELF. Its about 10 meters wide and it fking overwhelms ya My first thought was this this was the fanciest depiction of "The Last Supper" that I had ever seen but... "The Wedding at Cana, by sixteenth-century artist Paolo Veronese, was inspired by a description of the event in the Gospel of John (2:1-11). It was at this wedding that Jesus performed his first miracle -- turning water into wine. It's a Jewish wedding attended by Jesus, his mother, Mary, and the disciples. " source A controversy about this and other paintings by Renaissance artists of Jesus or early Christians is that they "contemporized" the images of people living some 1600 years prior to look more like the current Italian population. This reminds me of the 1960s US Western movies, where the women were depicted as wearing current makeup. They showed farm and ranch women wearing long eyelashes and eye shadow and bright lipstick while walking around in skin-tight jeans. No way, Jose! The 1930s Westerns had a problem depicting horses. The would show the posse galloping their horses 10 miles from town out to some ranch. They had already forgotten that horses are not motorcycles.
