ZZ Top learned a lot from him and his style.

 

If you are a Bass Player....just try to back his play.  When you finally get it down you can call yourself a rock/blues bassman.

Pull him up on YouTube and give it a try.  I think I pulled a ligament in my middle finger once trying to play bass on his records.

He was awesome.  2nd icon we have lost in 2 weeks.  Last week, the last surviving Ramone, Tommy Ramone, died of cancer.  Both JW and The Ramones shaped music so much.  Going to miss them.

A sad day in rock and roll indeed.. Winters was amazing.. A huge influence on me, and many many more musicians :(
